Twilight Zone Politics

Recent Democrat shenanigans are a reminder that crazy things happen in real life.

You have to be of a certain age to remember this, but then again, with all the retro TV, maybe not. Rod Sterling comes out and says: “You are about to enter another dimension; a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land of imagination. Next stop — the Twilight Zone!”

I was reminded of this recently while watching Robert Mueller’s testimony and listening to members of “The Squad” attacking everyone in sight that disagreed with them. It seems like they were all scripts for an entire new season of “Twilight Zone” episodes.

Let’s begin with the Mueller hearings. After nearly two years of investigations and a 448-page report that showed no Russian collusion from the Trump campaign, we were waiting with bated breath for Special Counsel Mueller to set the record straight. He read between the lines and found evidence that the common people (I guess that’s us!) were not smart enough to discern.

At the end of the day, we had another “nothing burger.” Watching him stumble, deflect, and punt away questions, I almost felt sorry for him. That was until I remembered all those caught up in the net of nonexistent collusion. Their lives and finances were destroyed by the overwhelming power of the Federal Government that was used against them until they “confessed.”

So, color me shocked when, the next day, Rep. Jerry Nadler told the media of all the charges and crimes Mueller supposedly revealed during his testimony and they were going to continue to pursue charges against the President! I wish I would have taped the program because I missed those allegations completely. I also remember the mainstream media lamenting impeachment was no longer an option. Cue the “Twilight Zone” music.

Then there was the Quad Squad, or Mod Squad, or just “The Squad.” They were hurling charges of racism at everyone, including Speaker Pelosi. (I have my shocked face on as I type this.) The Squad was lamenting the fact that, as “women of color,” they were being berated. Just curious, but one of them is a Palestinian. I didn’t know that made you a person of color? Anyway, they were not being attacked because of their color. They were being confronted for all the stupid, anti-American things they were saying.

Don’t they know we have this amazing technology where we can go back and find statements that were made in the past? It’s incredible what you can find. Like Rep. Ilhan Omar’s interview with Al Jazeera where she said we should not be afraid of al-Qaida, but we need to be profiling white men in the U.S. They were the real terrorists.

How about the BDS Movement (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) to basically destroy the nation of Israel? Omar said we need to boycott Israel just like we boycotted Nazi Germany prior to WW II. She claims she is NOT anti-Semitic but then she goes out and compares Jews to Nazis.

I wish I had time to write about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez comparing housing for illegal immigrants to concentration camps. These are the same “camps” she and “The Squad” voted against funding, which is the reason the facilities are so crowded. But that will have to be for another episode of Twilight Zone Politics!

Something to think about?
