If you’re old enough to remember Hurricane Katrina, you might remember Lieutenant General Russel L. Honoré, who took charge of military relief efforts across the Gulf Coast. He often met with the press talking about efforts going forward and preparing for future storms.

The media constantly asked Honoré questions about what could have been done, trying to find some blame to attach to President George W. Bush. Lt. Gen. Honoré replied: “That was the last storm, we’re looking towards the next one. Don’t get stuck on stupid!”

After the debacle in Afghanistan, a 2,000-page report filed by the military informed us the Biden administration refused to accept the intelligence coming in across Afghanistan saying that the Taliban were making significant gains. Biden withdrew troops in the middle of the night and abandoned billions of dollars in military equipment. Worse were the thousands of American citizens, green-card holders, and allies left behind, many facing certain death. When asked by NBC’s Lester Holt about the report, Biden denied its content!

Fast-forward mere months to the debacle taking place in Ukraine. Russia’s dictator built up his forces along Ukraine’s borders as we all watched until nearly 190,000 soldiers were ready. Biden and his minions called it a bluff … until the invasion started. For those of us not stuck on stupid, how could our intelligence have been so wrong, again? Or was it? Was this another missed signal by Joe Biden? Did he ignore intelligence he didn’t want to hear?

On the campaign trail, Biden told us Russian President Vladimir Putin didn’t want him to be president because Putin knew how tough he’d be. Biden would be the only one to stand up to Putin. How’s that working out for you, Joe? There were plenty of things NATO and Biden could have done with sanctions before Putin invaded. Biden apparently had no intention of doing anything that might hurt Russia and Putin. His administration admitted as much when the invasion began.

Was it all just political theater? Two thoughts occur to me. First, Biden may have received the intelligence in Afghanistan and Ukraine and promptly forgot it. His cognitive decline is obvious to most of us. Worse is that he received the intelligence and ignored it. Remember, Biden has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy decision for nearly 50 years.

As the world watches the horror of Putin’s aggression across Ukraine, America’s enemies are watching to see how Biden responds. China, Iran, and North Korea smell blood in the water. How many times can we say it? Weakness only invites more aggression.

Biden is going to “help” Americans by no longer purchasing energy from Russia. Instead, he’s asking Venezuela, Iran, and Saudi Arabia for help! Who in their right mind would obtain oil from these countries and risk extortion rather than extract our own vast resources here at home?

By the way: Did you know the Iran nuclear deal Biden is trying to resurrect is being negotiated for us by Russia? What could possibly go wrong? Biden is stuck on stupid!
