Biden’s Scheme to Rig the 2022 Midterms
Facing the prospect of a red wave in November, the president has enlisted the federal government to get out the vote on Democrats’ behalf.
“More than 1 million voters switch to GOP in warning for Dems,” blares the Associated Press headline. The story then goes on to describe, in delicious detail, how a political shift is taking place across the country and especially in the suburbs.
To this we say: It’s about damned time.
But anyone who thinks the Biden administration is just going to sit back and take their midterm shellacking in November is sorely mistaken. Between now and then, the people who brought us the 2020 election fiasco will do everything they can to rig the electoral process in their favor. As The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway writes:
President Biden really does not want the public to know about his federal takeover of election administration. Dozens of members of Congress have repeatedly asked for details, to no avail. Good government groups, members of the media, and private citizens have filed requests under the Freedom of Information Act. Not a single one has been responded to. All signs indicate a concerted effort to keep the public in the dark until at least after the November midterm elections. The lack of transparency and responsiveness is so bad that the Department of Justice and some of its agencies have been repeatedly sued for the information.
Team Brandon’s scheme can be traced back to March 7 of last year, when the president issued an executive order for all 600 federal agencies to “expand citizens’ opportunities to register to vote and to obtain information about, and participate in, the electoral process.” This order, coming as it did amid the Democrats’ push to enact their rotten, election-rigging HR 1 bill, raised concerns not only among Republicans, but also constitutional scholars and election integrity experts.
To read Biden’s order — or at least the first section of it, which describes its purpose — is to see it for what it is: a vile and cynical attempt to do what Democrats do best: divide Americans by race. It reads:
The right to vote is the foundation of American democracy. Free and fair elections that reflect the will of the American people must be protected and defended. But many Americans, especially people of color, confront significant obstacles to exercising that fundamental right. These obstacles include difficulties with voter registration, lack of election information, and barriers to access at polling places. For generations, Black voters and other voters of color have faced discriminatory policies and other obstacles that disproportionally affect their communities.
Section 9 is also a doozy, and it shows the depths to which Democrats will stoop. It’s titled “Ensuring Access to Voter Registration for Eligible Individuals in Federal Custody.”
But here’s the part that ought to concern all of us. As Hemingway continues: “Biden gave each agency 200 days to file their plans for approval by none other than Susan Rice, his hyperpartisan domestic policy advisor. Yet fully nine months after those plans were due, they are all being hidden from the public, even as evidence is emerging that the election operation is in full swing.”
Much of Joe Biden’s federally directed scheme is no doubt tied to “get out the vote” efforts, which, when targeted to Democrat-heavy areas of swing states and funded by $419 million from the likes of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, as it was in 2020, can literally buy an election.
Of course, the other scheme that was used to devastating effect by the Democrats in the last election was bulk-mail ballot fraud, which they initiated in states across the country under the guise of a COVID-19 safety measure. Not surprisingly, “progressive” Democrats are trying to make mail-in voting a permanent feature of the American electoral landscape.
This cannot stand.
Civilized nations allow absentee balloting for cases of real hardship, but they don’t allow tens of millions of votes to be mailed in. As the bipartisan 2005 report of the Commission on Federal Election Reform, chaired by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker III, concluded, “Absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.”
Democrats cheat. It’s what they do. And if left to their own devices between now and November 8, they’ll do it again. “President Biden really does not want the public to know about his federal takeover of election administration,” writes Hemingway. “All signs indicate a concerted effort to keep the public in the dark until at least after the November midterm elections.”
If Republicans allow it to happen again this cycle, they’ll have no one to blame but themselves.
