The City Journal’s Leor Sapir recently wrote a fascinating piece regarding the insane push by the Biden administration to put the jackboot of its transgender ideology on the neck of our European allies for simply following the science.

Under this administration, the fudging of the lines of distinction between homosexuality (sexual orientation) and gender identity (choosing from a plethora of genders separate from orientation) has led to the trespass with transgenderism that we are seeing play out. Using already existing legislation such as Title IX and through executive orders such as 14075, this administration has thrown gender identity into the mix. The purpose of this addition is to make it harder for parents to get their gender-confused children the help they need or for female athletes to have the rights promised them via a league of their own.

This administration sees itself as the next pioneers in “civil rights” for the gender confused. As we have argued previously, Democrats are so in love with the ideology of gender theory that instead of recognizing that it is unscientific, hurts people, and leaves its victims permanently in the sway of the pharmaceutical companies, they double down. Any medical professional, parent, or person with common sense who pushes back is called a bigot, a domestic terrorist, or is threatened. In some cases, Child Protective Services has taken away children.

Antony Blinken’s State Department is on the brink of classifying countries like Sweden, the UK, and Finland as human rights abusers simply for following the science. France and Australia may join their resistance soon as well. The UK recently closed its doors on its one and only gender-affirmation clinic because of all the harm that the practice of gender-affirmation therapy did to the children in the UK. Even German Nobel Prize winner and geneticist Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard called gender ideology “unscientific” and “nonsense.”

Scientists and the religious have a duty to team up together to take a stand against this madness. Scientists have the tools at their disposal of exact scientific facts (there are only two genders determined by chromosomes; cross-sex hormone usage causes horrible irreversible damage; gender-“affirmation” surgery is dangerous, etc.). Christianity and Judaism can point straight to Genesis where it says God created humans male and female.

The interests of the post-religious, materialistic, radical Left are purely on the side of gaining power by confusion and indoctrination. This insanity was allowed to take a foothold because we, as a country, have lost our sense of identity, and this confusion has led to bad ideas like gender theory.

Gender identity is not the next frontier in American civil rights, though it may be where America slips off the cliff and into outer darkness.
