Joe Biden and the Democrats’ Great Deception

The cognitively addled president was never even remotely up to the job, but the Democrats, in their lust for power, foisted him upon us anyway.

Joe Biden never actually said the word “normalcy,” but that’s what his Democrat Party handlers promised us after they dragged his carcass across the finish line nearly two years ago. He was supposed to be the moderate Democrat and the antidote to mean-tweeting Donald Trump — the familiar face who wasn’t going to break the bank or wreck our military or embarrass us on the world stage.

What a calamitous lie that was.

Were it not for an all-hands-on-deck effort by the party to shiv Vermont socialist Bernie Sanders, who was running away with the Democrat primary at the time, Biden would’ve been left for dead and Sanders would’ve been the party’s nominee. And he would’ve been trounced by Trump. And our economy would be roaring today, and our retirement funds wouldn’t be in the crapper, and inflation wouldn’t be costing us more than $700 per month, and the southern border would be secure, and gas would be cheap, and we’d still be energy independent, and we’d have left Afghanistan with our dignity and our gear, and Vladimir Putin would’ve never invaded Ukraine, and our kids wouldn’t have lost two years of schooling.

We’re reminded of what we wrote a little over two years ago:

If the American people wake up on Wednesday, November 4, to find that the cognitively challenged Joe Biden has been elected our 46th president, we’ll have just one man to curse: South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn.

Coming out of the all-important Iowa Caucuses and New Hampshire Primary, Biden was deader than dead. He’d finished a dismal fourth in Iowa, behind the homosexual Millennial, the septuagenarian socialist, and the fake Indian. And for an encore, he finished fifth in New Hampshire, having also finished behind Minnesota’s Amy Klobuchar. Eleven days later, he staggered into Nevada, and Bernie Sanders cleaned his clock by 26 points.

If ever a dude had the look of a loser, it was 77-year-old Joseph Robinette Biden. The voters who got to know him best — especially the citizens of Iowa and New Hampshire — had resoundingly kicked him to the curb.

And here we are, less that a month away from the midterms, and Joe Biden is riding the pine amid what must be the worst first two years of any presidency since that of Herbert Hoover, whose term was greeted less than eight months in by the stock market crash and the Great Depression. Seriously. There’s not a Democrat out there — at least not in a contested state on congressional district — who wants anything to do with him. What a strange place for a sitting president to be. Even George W. Bush, during the deadly depths of our nation’s slog in Iraq, would be invited to a safe congressional district here or there.

Instead, we have a president who’s calling out to dead congresswomen. Here’s how the New York Post’s Miranda Devine captures the awfulness of the Biden presidency:

Whether he is falling up the stairs of Air Force One or falling off a stationary bike, whether he is wandering around on stage in a fog or clutching cheat sheets designed for a 4-year-old, whether he is shouting incoherently or whispering creepily, the optics are shocking. … It’s criminal that the Democratic Party has placed America in such an invidious position with an emotionally febrile part-time president who appears not to be all there an awful lot — either in his mind or at the White House. The least they could do is cover up his deficits more skillfully.

As even the New York Times’s Peter Baker concedes: “White House officials … try to guard Mr. Biden’s weekends in Delaware as much as possible. He is generally a five- or five-and-a-half-day-a-week president, although he is called at any hour regardless of the day as needed. He stays out of public view at night and has taken part in fewer than half as many news conferences or interviews as recent predecessors.”

But Biden’s cognitively addled state is no joke, no laughing matter. It’s dangerous. Last Thursday, he attended a fundraiser at the New York City home of one of those lefty Murdoch boys, and he started talking about Vladimir Putin and all-out nuclear war. Huh?

“Biden’s off-the-cuff ‘Armageddon’ warning,” writes National Review’s Jim Geraghty, “is in line with his past ‘minor incursion’ and ‘for God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power’ gaffes. Biden has never been a disciplined thinker or speaker, and now that he is almost 80, he often blurts out the first thing that pops into his head.”

We hope the Democrats are happy. And we hope it was worth it for First Lady Jill Biden.

What Joe Biden will say next is anyone’s guess, but it’s clear that our president isn’t up to the job. In what is surely the worst political bait-and-switch in American history, the Democrat Party foisted him upon an ignorant electorate. And now we’re reaping the whirlwind.

Let’s remember all this on November 8.
