Merry Christmas!

Our editors and staff take leave between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

“May the father of all mercies scatter light, and not darkness, upon our paths, and make us in all our several vocations useful here, and in His own due time and way everlastingly happy.” —George Washington (1790)

Fellow Patriots,

Christmas is the most hallowed observance for our family, with the most deeply rooted traditions — a quiet and reverent time of rest and celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, punctuated by family festivities. This year we will have all three of our children, two spouses, and two baby grandchildren under our roof — a rare time together given the geographic spread between us.

In keeping with this blessed Christmas season, I invite you to read “Christmas and Our Patriot Founders,” which provides insights on the history and current context for our celebration of Christmas. Christianity is irrevocably linked to American Liberty and the Founding of our Republic. (If you missed my Christmas post Wednesday, please read “The Peace of God…”)

At the end of each year, I request that our editors and staff take leave between Christmas and New Year’s Day in order to be with their families. It is important for our team members to step back from the rigors of our relentless deadlines (as we do on Sundays) so that we enter the new year revitalized and ready to charge. However, we always have a “duty officer” rotation keeping watch, so columns will be maintained daily.

I ask your prayers for our editors and staff, that our mission would seed and encourage the spirit of Liberty in the hearts and minds of our countrymen. Join us in praying for our Creator’s blessing upon our nation, and especially for the protection of, and provision for, our military Patriots and their families.

On behalf of your Patriot Post team and our National Advisory Board, may this Christmas season and the coming New Year be filled with God’s blessings upon you, your family, and our nation.

Semper Vigilans Fortis Paratus et Fidelis!
