Capping Off Pride Month

Sexual deviancy should not be given any celebration, especially when considering that our American military warriors, past and present, are only honored a few days a year.

This June has been a wild ride in terms of the culture wars. Pride Month, the most sacred in the liturgical LGBTQ+ calendar, is coming to a close. This June, however, was markedly different than in years past.

Pride Month started early with things getting underway in late May. Target decided to employ a satanist for some of its pride merchandise. That, along with “tucking” swimsuits, was finally a bridge too far for the public at large. Target got the Bud Light treatment and quickly saw enough financial losses to give it pause.

Once we officially got into the month of June, this early rebellion against the Rainbow Mafia’s tyranny set the tone for the rest of the month. The best way to describe all that happened next can be categorized into a good news/bad news dichotomy — a binary, if you will.

Bad News: MLB

America’s favorite pastime, baseball, has been front and center this June. First, the Los Angeles Dodgers decided to honor an anti-Catholic hate group, The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, at their Pride Night event. This inspired public backlash from several players.

The Toronto Blue Jays decided to make an example of one of their pitchers, Anthony Bass, who dared to post an Instagram video supporting the Target and Bud Light boycotts. Bass was forced to apologize and was essentially fired.

Good News: MLB

Virtually no one showed up to the Dodgers’ ceremony honoring the Sisters, but plenty of protesters outside the stadium expressed their opinion of the Dodgers honoring a hate group.

Bad News: Science Denial

A major scientific study was censored by a “prestigious” scientific journal, Springer Nature, because the research proved that transgenderism was a social contagion.

Dr. Johnson Varkey, a human anatomy and physiology professor at St. Philip’s College in Texas, was fired for teaching accurate science. Since 2003, he has taught that sex is determined by the presence of XX or XY chromosomes. But in November 2022, students walked out when that fact was stated. He was fired because students called accurate science “religious” and “discriminatory.” In January 2023, he was officially fired and is currently in the midst of a court battle to get reinstated.

Good News: Following the Science

Many countries in Europe have severely restricted the use of cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers in the treatment of gender dysphoria in children and teens. Countries like the UK have been leading the way in walking back the counterproductive “gender-affirmation care” method.

A study out of Duke University — not typically considered a conservative-leaning school — found that 69.6% of people who identify as one of the plethora of alternate genders end up switching their identity back to straight after six years. (It’s almost like it’s a social contagion.)

Bad News: Pride Parades and Nudity

To paraphrase political pundit Ben Shapiro, pride parades have pride-paraded all over the place. In other words, the people attending these parades are seeing what they are really all about for the first time. Several parades featured naked men on bikes totally exposed to children who were in attendance. This was in addition to the usual promotion of kink and sex acts.

Good News: Indoctrination Is Admitted

The NYC Drag Queen Parade’s marchers chanted: “We’re here. We’re queer. We’re coming for your children.” At least they are no longer hiding the ball. They are indeed stating that their main aim is to pervert the moral teachings of parents and destroy culture. This admission of indoctrination is a victory of some some sort. Now there’s no excuse for fence-sitters.

Bad News: Groomer Summer Camps

Almost a dozen summer camps for “trans” kids have cropped up around the country. Some of them are overnight camps, and some are day camps for kids as young as four. Many of these camps are exclusively for “trans” kids. Other LGBQ+ kids are not welcome. None of these camps allow parental involvement (or if they do, parents/caregivers can only help with an activity that their child is not in). Some camps even offer “enrichment” such as “exploration of trans history and trans-focused sex education.” But don’t worry — the starting age for this “educational” course is 12. Some camps even offer free chest binders to gender-confused girls. There are only 11 camps this year; next year there will be exponentially more.

Good News: The Boycotts Are Working

The concerted boycott of both Anheuser-Busch and Target have had a huge impact. Target had to move its pride collection to the back of the stores and discontinued its collaboration with the UK-based, trans-identifying satanist. Anheuser-Busch has seen a steady and detrimental decrease in sales. The CEO still won’t apologize to his customers for such a bad marketing blunder. So intense has been the pushback from the consumer base that other companies such as Starbucks did a more muted or nonexistent pride display.

Bad News: The Fall of the Episcopal and Methodist Church

Last week, our Mark Alexander wrote extensively about the collapse within the Episcopal Church. He observed that the infiltration of the church by the Left “is not motivated to placate their gender-dysphoric constituents but to empower government by eroding Liberty, the nemesis of their statist agenda. They know that the best way to accomplish that is to attack faith and family, starting with children.” The Episcopal Church is a prime target because it has deep roots in American history and is one of the wealthiest church denominations. The Methodist Church, which is also going through a schism between a more conservative- and more progressive-leaning branch, is fairing no better. (Good news: There is still a conservative branch of the Methodist Church.)

Bad News: Pronoun Police on the New York Subway

According to the National Pulse, “Posters threatening that those who do not ‘respect trans people’ will end up with the pronouns ‘was/were’ have sprung up on the New York City Subway.” It comes off like a death threat, which, knowing the trans activists, is not out of the realm of possibility.

Good News: Slurs and Harassment Condemned on Twitter

Elon Musk made the terms “cis” and “cisgender” slurs on his social media platform. They are slurs against normal people who identify as their biological sex. Previously, the proscription on the use of these slurs against conservatives and others who dare to disagree with gender ideology has not really been enforced. Not anymore — there’s a new sheriff in town!

Good News: Poll

In a poll conducted by McLaughlin and Associates, most people declared that they want business to stay out of politics and the culture wars and stick to business. It was a whopping 73% of respondents.

Good News: Pride Month Alternatives

The pushback against Pride Month has been particularly strong this year. People have all sorts of alternative suggestions to counter the saturation of the month with the LGBTQ+ agenda. One Princeton professor suggested dedicating the month of June to the virtue of fidelity.

Conservative Christian podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey has been celebrating this month as the Noahic Covenant Month in an awesome attempt to reclaim the significance and sacredness of the rainbow.

Our Catholic friends have long dedicated June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, another worthy option.

All these alternatives seek to point our nation back to the truth and values on which we can continue to build our nation.

The Wrap-Up

Because of “tolerance” and going along to get along, “pride” has turned from a one-day to one-week to one-month affair (along with all the other various and constantly made-up days to celebrate LGBTQ+ throughout the year). Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine recently tried to declared the whole summer a “summer of pride.”

But the truly nice thing that June 2023 has shown is that there is more of a pushback happening against gender ideology.

Sexual deviancy should not be given any celebration, especially when considering that our American military warriors, past and present, are only honored a few days a year.

So Happy Noahic Covenant Month, Fidelity Month, and Sacred Heart of Jesus Month. We look forward to next month’s American Pride Month and the Fourth of July!
