A BREAKDOWN AT THE BORDER

  • New data shows 144,571 illegal immigrants were encountered crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in June.
    <ul>
    <li>For 28 straight months, monthly encounters&nbsp;have been higher than even the <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/sw-border-migration/fy-2019">highest</a> month seen under the previous administration.</li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    <li>With roughly 4,800 daily encounters, this dwarfs the definition of a "crisis" set by&nbsp;<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-era-border-numbers-dwarfing-obama-dhs-chiefs-standard-crisis-title-42-set-expire">Obama's DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson</a>, who&nbsp;said in 2019 that "more than 1,000" encounters&nbsp;a day "overwhelms the system."</li>
    <li>June's 144,000-plus encounters is a 186 percent increase from the average number of June encounters&nbsp;from 2017-2020.
    <ul>
    <li><a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-land-border-encounters">7,288 unaccompanied children</a>&nbsp;were encountered.</li>
    <li><a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-land-border-encounters">66,658 illegal immigrants</a>&nbsp;were encountered&nbsp;from countries outside the Northern Triangle and Mexico, showing that Biden's crisis is global.</li>
    <li>At least <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp-enforcement-statistics">140 people on the terror watchlist</a>&nbsp;have been encountered&nbsp;trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry so far this fiscal year – breaking the <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fbi-terror-watchlist-arrests-encounters-southern-border-fy-23-hits-all-time-record">all-time record of 98</a> set last year.
    <ul>
    <li>Earlier this year, Border Patrol mistakenly <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/immigration/border-patrol-mistakenly-released-terror-watch-list-suspect">released</a> a terror watchlist suspect into the United States.</li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    <li><a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-land-border-encounters">Seven million illegal immigrants</a>&nbsp;have crossed the border since Biden took office.
    <ul>
    <li>This includes the <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-land-border-encounters">5.6 million illegal immigrants</a>&nbsp;that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has apprehended and the more than <a href="https://gop.com/rapid-response/14-million-gotaways/">1.4 million gotaways</a>&nbsp;<a href="https://townhall.com/tipsheet/juliorosas/2023/03/27/cbp-data-shows-how-problematic-got-aways-have-become-during-border-crisis-n2621170">that have escaped past Border Patrol</a> into the U.S.</li>
    <li>Border officials say the&nbsp;<a href="https://townhall.com/tipsheet/juliorosas/2021/12/15/data-from-cbp-shows-how-many-illegal-immigrants-have-been-able-to-get-away-during-ongoing-crisis-n2600626">official number</a>&nbsp;of gotaways&nbsp;<a href="https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/nov/5/border-patrol-agent-says-12-million-illegal-immigr/">vastly undercounts</a>&nbsp;the illegal immigrants <a href="https://twitter.com/RNCResearch/status/1636031650948689920">who make it into the U.S.</a></li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    <li>Biden has <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/many-migrants-left-in-legal-limbo-as-u-s-fails-to-file-cases-11662370201">installed a de facto amnesty program</a> <a href="https://trac.syr.edu/reports/699/">in which over 75,000</a> <a href="https://trac.syr.edu/immigration/reports/691/">illegal immigrants</a> have had their cases dismissed in court due to his administration's failure to file the proper paperwork.</li>
    <li>Additionally, at least <a href="https://cis.org/Arthur/Bidens-Released-Least-2020522-Southwest-Border-Migrants">two million illegal immigrants</a> have been released into the U.S. and now await future immigration court dates since Biden took office.
    <ul>
    <li>Experts say the likelihood U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers will remove them is "<a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/immigration/two-million-immigrants-border-here-indefinitely">virtually nonexistent</a>" and they "are here indefinitely, if not forever."</li>
    </ul>
    </li>
    <li>Biden has <a href="https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cbsnews.com%2Fnews%2Fimmigration-parole-migrants-us-expansion-biden%2F&amp;data=05%7C01%7CMatthew.Middleton%40gop.com%7Cf869ef97cd0a410fcfdd08db887713dc%7C4a082c81950a410d9618462a9c74d6ae%7C1%7C0%7C638253817247307290%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=WIbpRJWBbS05i0LhJ7KUQzx5kr3gYyBt2Vn4VXeG6RQ%3D&amp;reserved=0">unilaterally paroled</a>&nbsp;over a half million migrants into the&nbsp;using a 1950s law in an "unprecedented" way.</li>
    <li>Homeland Security Investigations estimates that <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/25/us/migrant-smuggling-evolution.html">Mexican cartels are now making $13 billion</a> a year smuggling illegal immigrants into the U.S., 26 times what they made in 2018.</li>

DRUGS ARE POURING OVER THE BORDER INTO OUR COMMUNITIES

  • Illicit drugs are flowing into the country at an alarming rate, with only 5 to 10 percent being intercepted as border officials struggle to contain the smuggling.
    <ul>
    <li><a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/drug-seizure-statistics">2,141 pounds of deadly fentanyl</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/drug-seizure-statistics">9,398 pounds of methamphetamine</a>&nbsp;were seized at the southern border in June alone, with much more getting through.</li>

    <li>The amount of fentanyl seized in June is the equivalent of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dea.gov/resources/facts-about-fentanyl">more than 485 million</a>&nbsp;lethal doses.
    <ul>
    <li>Since Biden took office, more than <a href="https://www.dea.gov/resources/facts-about-fentanyl">21 tons of fentanyl</a> have crossed the southern border, enough to kill 9.7 billion people.</li>

BIDEN IGNORES THE SOUTHERN BORDER AS HIS HUMANITARIAN CATASTROPHE WORSENS

  • Despite Biden's promise of a "fair and humane immigration system," his open border policies aren't compassionate; they are deadly.
  • Earlier this month, four migrants, including an infant, died while attempting to cross the Rio Grande over a three-day period.
  • A few weeks ago, 12 illegal immigrants were found crammed in the back of a pickup truck, with the driver in possession of a handgun and cocaine.
  • More than 100 illegal immigrants have died from heat this year along the U.S.-Mexico border, 13 of which occurred in the first week of July alone.
  • Tens of thousands of migrant children who have come to the U.S. are being exploited and forced into de facto "indentured servitude."
    • Biden's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) lost track of 85,000 children after responding to Biden's demands to "move the children quickly out of shelters" by rolling back important vetting and safeguard procedures.
  • Criminals are flooding across the border, with Border Patrol arresting illegal immigrants accused of statutory rape, homicide, assault, and sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, all within the past two months.
  • Meanwhile, Border Patrol agents have been left demoralized and "overwhelmed" by the Biden administration's handling of the crisis.
