I'm not a big fan of Facebook, but as a writer who recognizes the need of reaching as wide an audience as possible, I consider it a necessary evil. Yet I also recognize something else: Facebook might best be referred to as Narrative Central in that it is a repository for countless numbers of "true" stories that are anything but.

"What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now!" The mob, representing the ultimate aspirations of a divide-and-conquer American left, got what it wanted. NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were executed by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, a career criminal with 19 arrests to his "credit." A criminal who made his intentions known on his Instagram page. "I'm Putting Wings on Pigs Today," the assassin wrote. "They Take 1 Of Ours . . . Let's Take 2 of Theirs." The post included a picture of the same silver automatic handgun used in the killings, and the same camouflage pants and blue sneakers Brinsley was wearing when he took his own life as police were closing in. The statements were filed under the despicable hashtag, #ShootThePolice, and two other hashtags referencing Eric Garner and Michael Brown. The two men represent the American left's latest narratives revolving around a nation full of racist out-of-control cops who target innocent black men. Make no mistake: this is an atrocity *wholly owned* by the American left.

Nothing brings out the unrelenting and self-righteous pettiness of the American left quite like Christmas. A courthouse Dallas, NC is the latest reminder. A nativity scene that has graced the Old Gaston Courthouse for the last 40 years has been removed, following complaints by a group of professional agitators known as the The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF). The group prides itself as defenders of the constitutional separation of church and state, and as "an effective state/church watchdog and voice for freethought (atheism, agnosticism, skepticism)." The self-appointed watchdog part is certainly accurate, but the notion that this is a bunch of free thinkers is as phony as Hillary Clinton. Genuine free thinkers would be far more acquainted with a concept that stood this nation in good stead for more than two centuries: live and let live. For decades upon decades, those who believed in Christmas enjoyed such holiday displays, while those who didn't countenanced them with the kind of grace and tolerance that live and let live evinced.

It's been a tough couple of weeks for the campus rape narrative. Two prominent tales of forcible rape disseminated by actress Lena Dunham and Rolling Stone Magazine appear to be falling apart faster than a Yugo. And no one is sadder than an American left that has invested a considerable amount of effort to convince the public our so-called institutions of higher learning are hotbeds of sexual assault. As is so often the case with the progressive agenda, the "lie repeated often enough it becomes the truth" is the essential element in promoting that assertion. In this case it is the assertion that a whopping one-in-five women are sexually assaulted on college campuses. That statistic comes courtesy of a Campus Assault Study conducted from 2005 through 2007 for the Justice Department's National Institute of Justice.

Early Sunday morning, 32-year-old Bosnian man Zemir Begic was killed in a hammer attack in the Bevo Mill neighborhood of St. Louis, MO. The murderous assault was perpetrated by three or four teens, described as "black and Hispanic." Approximately 50 people, mostly, if not all Bosnians, staged a demonstration on Gravois Avenue at Itaska Street on Sunday night to protest the killing. No stores were burned, no businesses were looted. The mainstream media was nowhere to be found. A picture of Begic can be seen here. And while he is clearly of the Caucasian persuasion, the media that have covered the story prefer to use the term "Bosnian" to describe him. More than likely that is the case because the word "white" would force them to consider the possibility that Begic was killed because of his race, or as a spillover reaction to the jury verdict and subsequent rioting in Ferguson.
Apparently President Obama's unilateral decision to grant de facto amnesty to five million illegal aliens was insufficiently outrageous. On Tuesday, a White House official told the Washington Post that many illegals now protected from deportation will be eligible to receive a "wide array" of government benefits, including Social Security and Medicare. The admission verifies that, once again, Americans are forced to endure another lie perpetrated by the president. When he announced his executive action last Thursday, Obama was adamant. "It does not grant citizenship, or the right to stay here permanently, or offer the same benefits that citizens receive -- only Congress can do that. All we're saying is we're not going to deport you," he insisted.

I am a conservative. The 2014 mid-term election marks the 20th year (at least) I've voted *against* something rather than *for* something, or as the phrase goes, "the lesser of two evils." I'd like to blame Democrats for my predicament, but I can't. They are what they are, and their downward spiral from the party of JFK, to the collection of divide-and-conquer, lying hacks who disdain America's language, culture, traditions -- and finally, our national sovereignty--has been evident for quite some time. Yet in all that time they've never betrayed their ideological imperatives, twisted as they are. It was the GOP who did that. After the electorate gave them control of both houses of Congress and the presidency in 2000, they proceeded to betray their commitment to limited government, fiscal responsibility, and liberty itself. "Compassionate conservatism" was nothing more than tax-and-spend liberalism by another name, and if they really want to know why the nation is now enduring a second helping of the most corrupt administration in the history of the nation, they need look no further than the nearest mirror. Without George W. Bush and a break-the-bank GOP preceding him, the reign of error known as Barack Obama would not have been possible.

Americans will be haunted by those four words for at least the next two years, courtesy of the most corrupt Oval Office occupant in recent history, aided and abetted by an equally corrupt Democrat party and their media propagandists. All of them are doing their utmost to upend one of our democratic republic's most cherished assumptions: elections matter. The reliably pathetic New York Times leads the way. "In the 10 days since 'we got beat,' as he put it, by Republicans who captured the Senate and bolstered control over the House, Mr. Obama has flexed his muscles on immigration, climate change and the Internet, demonstrating that he still aspires to enact sweeping policies that could help define his legacy," the paper gushes.
