Columnist.
As you may have noticed, in spite of my increased efforts, the amount of insanity in our society continues to expand at an alarming rate. For instance, just the other day, March 8th, America experienced something called "A Day Without A Woman," as part of the International Day of Women, an event invented about a hundred years ago, by the Russians. (There is a reason, you see, why women were encouraged to wear the color red.)
The way that the media carries water for the Democrats, you have every right to wonder who signs their checks – their bosses at the NY Times, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, the Washington Post, or the DNC.
If you spend too much time listening to Democrats and their fake news comrades at the NY Times, CNN, MSNBC and the Washington Post, you'd think Russia was on the verge of invading us. And when I say "too much time," I mean any time at all.
Except that President Trump is tall, very rich, lives in the White House and has all his own hair, he reminds me of me. On the chance you don't see it, let me explain.
No matter how sensible Donald Trump's policies are, you can count on liberals to run around in circles with their hair on fire, screaming and shouting that the sky is falling and the end of the world is nigh.
I have had an odd relationship with Bernie Goldberg. Although he has been nice enough to write the forewords to a couple of my books, we have never met. Somewhere along the way, we began exchanging email, and for a while he was posting some of my articles on his website. Then one day, he let me know he would no longer be running my stuff.
When I see the hooligans and brutes trashing city streets and college campuses, I find myself wishing President Trump good luck with his reasonable plan to at least temporarily put a stop to people coming here from hot spots in the Middle East. But I know it's already too late. The barbarians aren't merely at the gate, they're already inside and living next door to us. In some pathetic cases, in our basements.
As Donald Trump proved once again during a press conference that lasted over an hour, the man doesn't need a roomful of fawning would-be apprentices in order to captivate an audience. What he managed to do for all those years heading up a TV reality show was just an out-of-town rehearsal for the real thing.
There was that moment in "The Wizard of Oz" when the Wicked Witch of the West got splashed with a little water, and it spelled her doom. Before anyone knew what was happening, she evaporated, leaving only her black cloak and pointy hat in a small puddle.
There are a fair number of anti-Semites in America who insist that every time the U.S. does something to support Israel, it proves that influential Jews are exerting undue influence on the person in the White House or on Congress.
According to deep thinker Whoopi Goldberg: "We have a leader who's repeatedly demeaned women, wants to defund organizations that benefit women, calling on the media to shut up, specifically wants to give preferential treatment based on religion. Are these values really much different than the Taliban's?"
Not to be outdone by the California crazies in Berkeley, the day after the Soros-financed "liberals" trashed and burned UC Berkeley, the loons at NYU did the same thing on their campus. What is so bewildering about these outbursts is that the people involved regard themselves as the keepers of the flame when it comes to tolerance and open mindedness.
In retaliation for Trump's placing a travel ban on Muslims from several different countries in the Middle East, the Ayatollah has retaliated by banning Americans from entering Iran. Talk about win-win, Trump not only managed to keep a bunch of potential jihadists out of the U.S., but found a way to cut off Iran's easy access to American hostages.
In November, when I voted for Donald Trump, my main motivation was to defeat Hillary Clinton. I hoped Trump would be a good president, but the only thing I really knew for certain was that he'd be better than her.
I must confess I never considered Barack Obama a lover of freedom. After all, when there was a democratic uprising in Iran, he went golfing. When he might have secured freedom for Syrians, at least from the threat of being exterminated by Assad and Putin, Obama first announced a red line, and then quickly erased it. When Russia consumed Crimea, Obama once again took to the links and worked on his approach shot.
I understand that Rev. King is one of the great sacred cows of American history, but I resent the fact that America celebrates his birth as a national holiday. After all, the amazing George Washington first had to share a holiday with Abe Lincoln, and then wound up being relegated to having to share the occasion with the likes of Polk, Buchanan, Wilson, Harding and now, Obama, on Presidents' Day.
Because some people are so despicable, it's easy to write them off entirely, ignoring the good they've done, no matter how inadvertently, along the way. For instance, eight years ago, when the Democrats had absolute control of the political landscape, it appeared that the GOP would be joining the Whigs and the Bullmoose in the boneyard of political parties. But, thanks to the overreach of Barack Obama and his endless series of miscalculations, which included the Affordable Care Act, Solyndra, the billion-dollar stimulus, Cash for Clunkers and the Iran deal, we saw the Republicans reacquire the House, the Senate and the Oval Office.
Aside from those nominated and the studios who like to run ads boasting of how many Oscars their movies have garnered, most people don't really care about the Academy Awards. But at least the overwhelming majority of the 4,000-odd people who get to vote are actively engaged in the movie business.
Lately, because of Obama's recent attempt to punish Israel while pretending to be an innocent bystander by abstaining while 14 other nations did his back-stabbing for him, the United Nations has been very much on my mind.
A lot of people are at a loss when it comes to figuring out why in the waning days of his administration Barack Obama is doing some of the outlandish things he's been passing by presidential fiat, including emptying our jails, banning oil drilling in the Arctic, transferring millions of acres in Nevada and Utah to the federal government, not to mention supplying the knife with which the U.N. stabbed Israel in the back.
