Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the White House this week for some good old-fashioned diplomacy, but President Donald Trump wanted to help him feel as comfortable as possible.

Here are some ways Trump eased tensions and made him feel right at home:

  2. He instructed all White House staff to make their eyes slanted with their fingers: Just like being home.
  3. A lucky waving cat statue was placed at the White House entrance: All the best Chinese places have them.
  4. An after-dinner fortune cookie with a special message inside: “You will find happiness in a new trade agreement with reduced tariffs.”
  5. Spy balloon parade over the White House lawn: Most impressive.
  6. A large pot of honey to take home: Xi’s favorite treat.
  7. A gong was sounded every time Xi entered the room: BWONG!
  8. Trump showed off his favorite Hello Kitty backpack: Stylish.
  9. A DVD of the hit 1998 film Rush Hour: Xi is reportedly a huge Chris Tucker fan.
  10. Presented Xi with a valuable antique samurai sword: China and Japan are basically the same, right?
