Pass the SAVE Act
A looseness in voter qualifications enhances the ability to cheat in elections. Is it so hard to believe Democrats wouldn’t cheat for electoral advantage?

In their ongoing demonstration of their complete inability to govern, Democrats persist in opposing the SAVE Act.
The SAVE Act is supported by Republicans, including President Donald Trump. It is also supported by a majority of voters. About 80% of voters support requiring voter identification. Eighty percent want illegal aliens purged from the rolls, and 75% support requiring proof of citizenship. Overall, Republicans support the measure by a larger margin than Democrats, but a majority of both cohorts support it by significant numbers.
Its purpose is to prevent noncitizens from voting and creates safeguards in the process to ensure that only citizens can vote. When voters present to vote, they must show photo identification. Election officials must purge the rolls of illegal citizens and produce an unredacted list of registered voters to the Department of Homeland Security.
The measure has passed the House of Representatives, but Senate Democrats are opposed and the matter is in limbo because the Republicans cannot overcome the cloture vote, which requires 60% of the vote to end the filibuster.
We are in this predicament because, while most Americans and most members of the House support the SAVE Act, Senate Democrats, led by the execrable Chuck Schumer, do not. They are ostensibly opposed because it might impose burdensome requirements on low-income voters and married or divorced women.
A person wishing to register to vote must prove U.S. citizenship. There are multiple ways of doing so.
It is remarkably easy to obtain a birth certificate. I did so not long ago without any trouble. A marriage license in conjunction with a birth certificate appears to be sufficient for newly married women. For divorced women, a certified copy of the divorce decree along with a birth certificate should suffice.
We live in a world where identification is required for going to the doctor; getting a library card; getting on a commercial flight; enrolling in school; getting a driver’s license; getting a passport; going on a cruise; and renting a motel room.
What is at play here is this: Most Democrats are interested in obtaining and keeping power. To that end, we have seen Democrats engage in any number of illegal schemes to effectuate that goal.
A secretary of state unilaterally decided Donald Trump could not appear on the Maine ballot. Congress sets the parameter for federal elections.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis led a criminal prosecution attempt against Trump. While greatly exceeding her power, she also managed to put her lover on the payroll for hundreds of thousands of dollars. That effort collapsed.
Democrats raided Trump’s home, including invading Melania’s underwear drawer for documents allegedly illegally retained by Trump. That effort collapsed.
On the other hand, Joe Biden’s house was not searched, even though Biden’s possession of such documents was clearly inappropriate. Trump’s records were under lock and key. Biden’s were in the garage.
Democrat operatives paid by Hillary Clinton created a false narrative of Trump cavorting with Russians. That effort collapsed.
Trump was impeached for allegedly colluding with the Russians. He was acquitted. No witnesses or documents were subpoenaed. Adam Schiff was censured for lying about evidence of Trump’s involvement.
But why oppose the relatively modest and commonsense proposals of the SAVE Act? An unquenchable desire for power. Democrats have not had a decent policy proposal in years. Their position could be best described as Trump Derangement Syndrome. If Trump is for it, then Democrats are reflexively against it.
A looseness in voter qualifications enhances the ability to cheat in elections. Given the litany of misconduct above, is it so hard to believe Democrats wouldn’t cheat for electoral advantage? Is it really plausible that in 2020 Biden received millions more legitimate votes that Barack Obama?
Congress works for us. A majority of Americans favor voter ID. The SAVE Act should pass.
