Health Care Option
With control of all the levers, eight years of good conservative ideas and repeated assurances that if put in power the GOP would see to it that Obamacare would go, one wonders why repealing it is so hard. The simplest answer is that the GOP isn’t nearly as conservative on health care as their rhetoric implied. And when the public sands shifted more positively toward Obamacare, they ran for the hills. If you don’t like that one, then another explanation is a profound lack of a basic/unified GOP theme on health care and an utter absence of messaging.
Research Isn’t Tainted Just Because Industry Picks Up the Tab
This fall, the National Institutes of Health will launch a major study to determine whether regular consumption of alcohol helps prevent heart attacks. The clinical trial will comprise nearly 8,000 participants, recruited from 16 sites in North and South America, Europe, and Africa. The volunteers will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: Those in the first group will have one drink each day, while those in the other group abstain. This enormous study will come with an enormous price tag: more than $100 million.

That’s who dealt a terrible blow Thursday night to millions of Americans who have been shafted by Obamacare. The media, the entire Democrat Party and three renegade Republican senators — McCain, Murkowski and Collins — once again demonstrated why it is virtually impossible to get rid of entitlement programs.

The Walmart shoppers were growing impatient. It was late on a Friday night in Newcastle, Oklahoma, and many of the customers were grumbling and complaining about the lady at the front of the line.
