Peace, Retreat and Inspiration
There are six sisters of the Order of the Most Holy Savior in the United States, and not one of them was born in this country. Also known as the Sisters of St. Bridget, or the Bridgettines, here they hail from India and Mexico, with some time spent in the motherhouse in Rome. The order, founded by Saint Bridget of Sweden, was almost lost to history during the Reformation.

The Supreme Court Tackles Election Law Case
On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court announced that it would take up a Wisconsin redistricting case. Its decision in Gill v. Whitford will determine whether the Court intrudes into the realm of partisan gerrymandering, a “political thicket” into which previous justices have feared to tread.

The Outlook After the Special Elections
The victory of Republican Karen Handel in the special election in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District on Tuesday has discouraged Democrats and encouraged Republicans. Democrat Jon Ossoff won 48.1 percent in the special election’s first round April 18, and Democrats had high hopes that they could take this House seat from the Republicans.
