Obama’s Shocking, Historically Weak Economic Performance
On Jan. 27, the Commerce Department reported that the U.S. economy grew at an annual rate of only 1.9 percent for the fourth quarter and that the overall rate of growth for 2016 was a feeble 1.6 percent. During the eight years of Barack Obama’s presidency, the average annual real GDP growth was 1.5 percent —the weakest economic performance of any post-WWII president, and the fourth worst ever.
How to Do Immigration Right
The circus atmosphere bursting through breathless reports of the president’s recent immigration order have triggered incomprehensible judicial rulings and slanderous accusations made by public officials whose loyalties are to anything but the law, our Constitution and fellow American citizens. Today, a Republican administration promises that wisely wielded Washington power can rearrange commercial activities in ways superior to those produced by private-sector calculations in free market transactions.

As expected, the judges of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the Trump administration Thursday. But let’s be clear about the ruling. The court DID NOT declare the president’s executive order unconstitutional.

Our Overly Sanctified Judiciary
As you might have heard, Donald Trump tweeted at a judge. The commentariat shuddered at the effrontery of it, and some worried that the foundations of the separation of powers had been shaken. Trump’s slam of Judge James Robart was undeniably crude and ill-considered, but it wasn’t a threat to our republic.
