Clinton Policies to End Pay Gap Would Just Make It Larger
Women, lamented Hillary Clinton in an April 2014 tweet, make just 77 cents on the dollar to men. As a presidential candidate she has repeated that lament again and again, updating the numbers, in line with government statistics, to 78 cents in July 2015 and 79 cents this year.
If Everything’s Negotiable, Let’s Negotiate
At this point, I am not going to announce support for Donald Trump, though I am not #NeverTrump and am emphatically #NeverHillary. To restate my position without social media lingo, I would never vote for Hillary Clinton and, though I am right now uncomfortable with endorsing Trump, I anticipate — but don’t guarantee — that I’ll eventually hold my nose and vote for him.

A Response to My Conservative #NeverTrump Friends
When you differ from people you admire, you have to question yourself. After all, what is the purpose of admiring people if they aren’t capable of influencing you? So, I have had to challenge my position — stated since the outset of the Republican presidential debates — that if Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination, I will vote for him over Hillary Clinton, or any Democrat for that matter.

A Short Summation of My Climate Position
Earth is warmer now than in the late 1970s, the start of the satellite era. This can be explained largely to the turn of the Pacific and the Atlantic to their warm cycles. This is the “Bathroom Shower Theory” that I have used many times. Turn on a hot shower, and the bathroom will heat up until an equilibrium is reached.
The Danger of the ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement
For almost two years, a protest movement known as “Black Lives Matter” has convulsed the nation. Triggered by the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, in August 2014, the Black Lives Matter movement holds that racist police officers are the greatest threat facing young black men today. This belief has triggered riots, “die-ins,” the murder and attempted murder of police officers, a campaign to eliminate traditional grand jury proceedings when police use lethal force, and a presidential task force on policing.

As most of you are aware, I am not a black man. That means that in certain quarters, whatever negative comment I might care to make about Barack Obama, Al Sharpton, Black Lives Matter or Loretta Lynch, will be dismissed as racist drivel. So be it. I had imagined that Eric Holder would go down as the worst Attorney General in American history. But, then, I also assumed that Jimmy Carter would go down as the worst president. But Obama has spent the last seven years making me eat those words for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Donald Trump has agreed to meet privately with some of the nation’s most prominent Evangelical leaders — a meeting seen as critical to garnering support from social conservatives, Fox News has learned. “Our goal is to be able to have a conversation that could lead to a better understanding of what Donald Trump has to offer to the country,” said Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.
Why ‘Antidumping’ Tariffs Should Be Dumped
China produces more than 820 million tons of steel per year, of which about 100 million tons are exported and sold at a discount overseas. Only about 3 percent of those exports go to the United States, but American steel producers bristle at the competition. So in keeping with the time-honored practice of the US steel industry — “the backbone of American manufacturing,” as it proudly calls itself — domestic producers are rising to the challenge.

The mere possibility of a Donald Trump presidency — gold-plated faucets in the house first occupied by John and Abigail Adams — will perhaps have a salutary effect. It might demystify an office that has become now swollen with inappropriate powers and swaddled in a pretentiousness discordant with a republic’s ethic of simplicity. This wholesome retreat from presidential grandiosity would be advanced if on Jan. 20, 2017, the 45th president delivered the following inaugural address:

General Relief Over Boykin Return
Almost every day, FRC is defending the freedom of someone to live out their faith at work. But it’s not every day that the person is one of our own. When Lt. General Jerry Boykin (U.S. Army-Ret.) retired from the military, he had no idea he’d still be fighting for the freedoms he spent 36 years defending. College Reverses Decision, Rehires Famed Delta Force Hero
When given the choice of standing alongside a decorated military hero or a bunch of militant LGBT activists, choose wisely. The leadership of Hampden-Sydney College learned that lesson the hard way. On May 19 I reported to you that the Virginia all-male college had chosen not to renew retired Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin’s contract, ending his stellar, nine-year career teaching leadership and ethics.
House Rejects Amendment That Would Have Curtailed Religious Freedom
On Thursday, the House of Representatives voted to reject the Maloney Amendment. The Maloney Amendment would have ratified President Barack Obama’s executive order barring federal contractors from what it describes as “discrimination” on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in their private employment policies. And, of course, “discrimination” on the basis of gender identity can be something as simple as having a bathroom policy based on biological sex, not gender identity, as we learned last week from Obama’s transgender directives. And “discrimination” on the basis of sexual orientation can be something as reasonable as an adoption agency preferring married moms and dads for orphans than other arrangements.
Misspeaking in the Modern Age
When West Virginians got upset with Hillary Clinton for stating “I will put coal miners and coal companies out of business,” she hastened to explain that she had misspoken. Apparently the voters didn’t believe her any more than the rest of us did, providing Bernie Sanders with a 15-point victory in the primary.
