The Cynical ‘Millionaires Tax’ Didn’t Fool the SJC
Shed no tears for the “millionaires tax” ballot initiative, which the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court struck down on Monday. From the outset, the initiative was a cynical ploy to get voters to do something they have repeatedly rejected — replacing the state’s flat-rate income tax with a system of graduated tax brackets. But nobody was fooled by the ruse, least of all the SJC.

The Horowitz Hearings
Monday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing featuring FBI Director Christopher Wray and Inspector General Michael Horowitz was more than three hours long. Several senators did a good job of zeroing in on the animus against President Trump and his supporters at the FBI’s Washington, DC, headquarters. We also learned at Monday’s hearing that there is an ongoing investigation of James Comey’s handling of classified information.
