Franklin Graham is a voice crying in the wilderness. "I believe we are perilously close to the moral tipping point for the survival of the United States of America," Graham wrote in Decision magazine. "I refuse to be silent and watch the future of our children and grandchildren be offered up on pagan altars of personal pleasure and immorality." The Supreme Court has already redefined marriage. The nation has become a killing field for Islamic radicals. And Christians have become targets for practicing their First Amendment rights.
The Gift of Ignorance and Sophistry
Another "Holiday Season" is behind us. And every such season, the purge of religion in our public schools just gets worse. In fact, the season now serves to remind us of one thing for certain: the God-purgers are on an unyielding secular crusade that gets more self-righteous ever year. This past season seemed to reach new levels of absurdity. What we're seeing now is remarkable not only for its vigorous assault against everything religious, but for the apparent willingness by secularists to embrace ignorance and sophistry in the process. They are willing to make their students — whom they're supposed to educate — dumb about historical reality and to look downright silly in the process. I'll illustrate with two examples, starting with this past Thanksgiving, the kick-off of the long "Holiday Season."
Another Bad Deal
A budget deal has been reached in Washington. It is a mammoth bill, at least 2,000 pages long. Conservatives are not happy, while the White House is applauding. I won't ruin your Christmas by going through all the gory details, but I'll just mention two. Planned Parenthood gets full funding. So, too, does the Syrian refugee program, even as the administration continues to insist that no changes are needed to ensure that there are no jihadists among the refugees.

Football Coach Suspended for Midfield Prayer Files Discrimination Complaint
One coach prayed to God. Another coach chanted to Buddha. But only one got punished — the Christian coach. Joe Kennedy, a beloved assistant football coach in Bremerton, Washington, was suspended on Oct. 28 after he refused to stop his post-game prayers at the 50-yard line. On Tuesday, he filed a discrimination complaint against the school district, claiming the district did not punish the team's offensive coordinator for conducting Buddhist chants in a similar manner.
Federal Judge Bans School's Live Nativity Show
A federal judge has banished the Baby Jesus and the Three Wise Men from an Indiana high school's Christmas musical. U.S. District Court Judge Jon DeGuilio, appointed to the bench by President Obama, issued an injunction against Concord Community Schools on Dec. 2. The court order forbids students from presenting a live Nativity scene during the Concord High School's Christmas Spectacular. The judge said that portion of the show is overtly religious in nature. "The living nativity scene impermissibly conveys an endorsement of religion and thus runs afoul of the Establishment Clause," the judge wrote in his ruling.

Why did the Marxist atheists who controlled the Soviet Union tear down the Berlin Wall? Did the Western leaders who forced Soviet communism to collapse shrink from proclaiming the truth of the Bible or the fact that free societies are based on a rule of law rooted in the natural law that God engraves on every heart? VA Christmas Tree Ban Causes Yuletide Uprising
Folks around Salem, Virginia, were ready to jingle the government's bells after they implemented a ban on Christmas trees and religious Christmas carols in the public spaces of the local VA hospital. The holiday hullabaloo began last week when workers received an email announcing that Christmas trees would no longer be allowed in public spaces at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

When Islamic terrorist attacks cause mass casualties, like the horrific events in Paris, it's all well and good to preach the obvious that ISIS killers don't represent all Muslims, any more than the Nazis represented all the German people. But what is wholly unacceptable is any attempt to drag Christianity into a moral-equivalency game with radical Islam. The leftist comedians really should have stopped this gunk when Rosie O'Donnell announced on "The View" nine years ago that "Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America" because the United States was at war in Iraq. (Rosie would never be able to define non-radical Christianity because in her warped world, that's an oxymoron.)
God Is Unchanging; Believe It
Unbeknownst to many in our culture, including even some Christians, the God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament. God, the Bible assures us, is unchanging. Our secular culture mischaracterizes Jesus as a hyper-tolerant, nondiscriminatory liberal who is indifferent to sin and passes judgment on no one. But Jesus is not a milquetoast pacifist. In his Sermon on the Mount, which many cite as evidence of his unique moral teachings, he set out nearly impossible standards of human conduct. He didn't say, "I don't care how you live." Rather, he said, "You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Indeed, the Bible depicts Christ as the ultimate judge of mankind. He discussed the subject of hell more than any other.

According to one Tennessee school district, it seems the biggest threat a student could face is seeing a copy of Scripture up close. To "spare" kids this horrifying experience, Bledsoe County Schools is booting the Gideons from school property because a single student complained.
