There are endless “knock-knock” jokes. But the answer to “Who’s there?” by the deep state coup d'état cabal of co-conspirators who interfered both with the first election of Donald Trump and then undermined his administration, of may be, “The FBI.” In this case, my preference would be for “no knock” entries!

A month ago, we noted that a “grand conspiracy” DoJ investigation was launched, which could result in a federal grand jury empanelment to snare deep state collaborators who attempted to take down Trump before and after his election in 2016. That investigation was predicated on CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s release of a comprehensive review of the CIA’s role in the launching the fabricated “Russia collusion” narrative, and the political weaponization of both the CIA and FBI to propagate that fabrication.

Ratcliffe’s review provided a direct link to Barack Obama’s fingerprints on this conspiracy and his role launching it.

At the time, distinguished legal scholar Jonathan Turley, a former Hillary Clinton supporter, concluded: “The public is now learning about the real Russian conspiracy and its key players. It was the most infamous — and successful — political hit job in history. The same media that pushed the false claims are now, again, imposing a news blackout as they did with the Hunter Biden laptop. The problem is that the truth, like water, tends to find a way out. That trickle just turned into a flood for the architects of the Russian collusion hoax.”

This was a collaborative conspiracy far more dangerous to our Republic and Constitution than the 1972 Watergate break-in.

As you may recall, the most famous question in that investigation was asked by then-Sen. Howard Baker (R-TN): “What did the president know and when did he know it?” That question is relevant once more regarding the role both Obama and Joe Biden played in this conspiracy.

Despite the best efforts of Biden, his corrupt DoJ principals under former AG Merrick Garland, and their Leftmedia publicists who did all they could to cover up this conspiracy during Biden’s four years in office, there was one fatal flaw in their calculation: The reelection of Donald Trump.

The Ratcliffe report was followed by the release of declassified information by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and her announcement that she was “providing all documents to the Department of Justice to deliver the accountability that President Trump, his family, and the American people deserve.” Fact is, there was not much new in the Ratcliffe and Gabbard declassified documents except — and it is a BIG EXCEPT — the information has now officially been referred to the DoJ for criminal review. And this is not Biden’s corrupt DoJ.

After the release of the Ratcliffe and Gabbard reports and the DoJ criminal referral from Gabbard, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that there was a “Strike Force” investigation unit assigned to this case. Strike Forces are used to investigate complicated organized crime conspiracies. That dovetails with prosecuting this case as a “grand conspiracy,” which provides more latitude for prosecutions.

Of that development, Turley concludes: “Democrats pulled the greatest political con job ever on Americans. It’s finally unraveling. … This is the emerging story of the real Russian conspiracy to manufacture a false narrative that succeeded in devouring much of the first term of the Trump administration. … It appears that everyone was in on the trick: the U.S. government, the media, even foreign governments. The only chumps were the American people. Now they are about to see how it was done.”

This week, AG Bondi has tasked a federal prosecutor with presenting evidence to a federal grand jury. That implies that DoJ believes there are prosecutable offenses.

The criminal inquiry will likely first focus on the actions of Obama’s corrupt former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former FBI Director James Comey as prosecutorial pathways to other co-conspirators.

As I noted after Gabbard’s criminal referral, while there is a five-year statute of limitations for most federal conspiracy charges, any act in furtherance of the conspiracy restarts the clock. That would include perjury and other actions to continue or conceal the original conspiracy, which could ensnare Brennan, Clapper, and Comey.

Arguably, Brennan and Clapper are at risk for indictments, but Comey may be first in line.

While the Biden “department of justice” most assuredly did not consider indicting Comey for obstruction and perjury, this 30 September 2020 exchange between Comey and the Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Comey testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee, may come back and bite him if the statute if limitations does not run out.

In that hearing, Cruz stated to Comey: “On May 3rd, 2017, in this committee, Chairman [Chuck] Grassley asked you point blank, ‘Have you ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation?’ You responded under oath, ‘Never.’ He then asked you, ‘Have you ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton administration?’ You responded again under oath, ‘No.’” Cruz then reminded Comey that his former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, has “publicly and repeatedly stated that he leaked information to the Wall Street Journal and that you were directly aware of it and that you directly authorized it.”

Cruz asked: “Who’s telling the truth?” Comey replied: “I can only speak to my testimony. I stand by the testimony you summarized that I gave in May of 2017. … I’m not going to characterize Andy’s testimony, but mine is the same today.”

This investigation could reach many co-conspirators in the deep state cabal under the direction of Brennan and Comey, opening a floodgate of prosecutions.

It will be difficult to find direct prosecutorial paths to Obama and Biden, as they used a plethora of firewall cutouts for their black bag conspiracy with Brennan, Clapper, and Comey.

Some legal analysts have suggested we will be shocked at who is indicted first. I will be shocked if anyone is indicted, but will welcome the jolt if I am wrong.

(UPDATE: On 25 September 2025, five days before the statute of limitation ran out, James Comey was indicted for lying and obstruction, and if convicted, that may open the door for a broader investigation.)
