FBI Report Doesn’t Help SPLC Fundraising
The race-hustling group is disappointed that the FBI “Hate Crime” report doesn’t indicate more hate.
The hilarity never ends when it comes to year-end fundraising by one of the nation’s highest-profile hate-hustling outfits.
The so-called Southern Poverty Law Center booted its founder Morris Dees a couple years back, but the hate-hustling model he perfected to raise money is still going strong. As Dees’s former law partner, Millard Fuller, said of their years in business: “Morris and I shared the overriding purpose of making a pile of money. We were not particular about how we did it; we just wanted to be independently rich.”
To that end, Harper’s Ken Silverstein observed that the SPLC exists “to separate wealthy liberals from their money.”
Ironically, the SPLC owes its success to racial appropriation — monetizing the Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton race-bait shakedown model to raise truckloads of cash from individuals and corporations in what could arguably be described as a protection racket. However, unlike the Demos’ so-called Black Lives Matter political front, which imploded under its own corrupt weight earlier this year, the SPLC continues to rake it in, having accumulated hundreds of millions to target conservative organizations it labels as hate groups, lumping them in with a few actual hate groups.
For example, the SPLC lists Christian organizations like the Family Research Council on its national hate map for not embracing the Left’s gender-confusion agenda.
And now, Big Tech free speech suppressors are using the SPLC as an arbiter of what constitutes “hate speech,” despite the fact that SPLC employees claim the organization itself is racist.
So, what now?
As part of my opposition research, I subscribe to a roster of leftist email lists, including the SPLC, which this week sent me a fundraising message lamenting the fact that the FBI is not helping its fundraising because the bureau’s annual report on hate crimes does not list enough hate crimes.
According to the SPLC, “The latest numbers fail to capture the scope of the problem even more miserably than in previous years.”
The fundraising appeal indicates “very little reliable data can be found on the full range of hate crimes against people — based on their race/ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender and gender identity.” You know, the ever-expanding list of hate crime categories needed to keep the big bucks flowing.
No doubt more than a few emotionally incontinent leftists who received that fundraising email clicked on the big red donate button to help the SPLC attack conservative organizations like The Patriot Post.
If you are so inclined, help your Patriot Post team fight back!
