Illegal Chinese Biolab in … California?
The government and mainstream media are giving it the black-hole treatment. Why is no one talking about this?
In the sleepy rural California town of Reedley, in an abandoned warehouse, a sneaky dragon was creating its lair. That sneaky dragon was an illegal biolab, funded by the People’s Republic of China and run by an illegal Chinese immigrant who was already wanted in Canada. It was discovered by a code enforcement officer, Jesalyn Harper, in December 2022 — over a year ago — and the more journalists dig into this story, the worse it gets.
According to Adam Garrie and Nikos Biggs-Chiropolos, the journalists who did a deep-dive investigative report on this illegal biolab: “From late December 2022 until January 2023, the FBI took over the investigation. Meanwhile, Harper and her colleagues continued to observe individuals moving items in and out of the biolab, often late at night. After spending less than two months investigating the matter, the FBI dropped its investigation, concluding that no ‘weapons of mass destruction’ were on the property. Harper said that at the time agents were more focused on bombs and other traditional weapons than on biological agents or, by extrapolation, potential bioweapons.”
When it was finally shut down, there were, according to the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, “thousands of samples of labeled, unlabeled, and encoded potential pathogens, including HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, and Covid.” The illegal operation was slapdash and definitely not up to code. It took several different agencies over 70 days to go in and clean up everything.
But wait … the story gets more sinister. One of the shell companies under which this biolab was hiding, called Universal Meditech Incorporated (UMI), wanted to open up another location near Fresno after its previous facility burned down due to hazardous conditions in the warehouse biolab. The location of the new warehouse that this company wanted to move to is also suspect. It’s right next to Fresno Yosemite International Airport and Fresno Air National Guard Base. Coincidence? No, it is not.
The operator of this illegal biolab, a man named Jia Bei Zhu — a.k.a. Jesse Zhu, Qiang He, and David He (yes, several aliases) — was indicted for distributing bad COVID-19 tests throughout the United States through the cover companies UMI and Prestige Biotech Incorporated (PBI). He was also wanted in Canada for theft of American intellectual property to the tune of 300,000,000 Canadian dollars.
The CDC seems to be ignoring this whole illegal biolab debacle. The mainstream media is also giving it the black-hole treatment.
It’s just like the whole question of the origins of COVID-19 — was it the Wuhan Institute of Virology or the neighboring wet market? Most Americans now believe it was the institute and not the wet market from whence the disease originated, but for the longest time, the NIH, the CDC, and the WHO would all have the deplorable masses believe that the disease originated from a bad batch of bat soup. Now there seems to be actual “smoking gun” evidence discovered by a British virologists that places COVID’s origins soundly in the lab setting.
As National Review’s Jim Geraghty put it: “Though we won the argument in the realm of public opinion … nothing happened. There have still been few real consequences for the Chinese government, and certainly no consequences commensurate to unleashing a plague that killed about 7 million people officially and anywhere from 18 million to 32 million if you count all the suspiciously high excess deaths in places such as China and Russia, among others. President Biden assures us that U.S.–China relations are in a ‘thaw.’”
These are not the actions of an international rival but an enemy. To our peril, the U.S. continues to let China act without consequences. Who knows just how much damage this illegal lab has caused — and are there more out there hiding in plain sight, just waiting to destroy the American people?
For President Joe Biden, this biolab story combines all the most glaring red flags of his failed presidency: weak on foreign policy, and weak on illegal immigration. So naturally, it’s not front-page news.
