As if the modern era couldn’t get any weirder, Tylenol, the over-the-counter painkiller, is having a pop culture moment inside the social media sphere. As our Thomas Gallatin noted yesterday, President Donald Trump and his team issued a warning this week about a possible link between Tylenol use during pregnancy and babies developing adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes, specifically autism and ADHD.

This warning is derived from several studies, including one from the Harvard School of Public Health and one from Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine. These are reputable scientific sources. Experts, if you will.

Tylenol itself issued a social media post in 2017 proclaiming, “We actually don’t recommend using any of our products while pregnant.”

However, because President Donald Trump and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. were the purveyors of this week’s warning, leftist women went bananas. In a TikTok trend, they defiantly took Tylenol just to spite the Trump administration and stick it to the man.

Granted, we should recognize that much of what’s done on social media is just for clicks and accolades. Most Democrats aren’t snacking on Tylenol, and the aforementioned women (and man) on social media may have recorded their little protest videos and then spit out the medicine after the camera was done rolling. Some of the women may not have even been pregnant. Nevertheless, while the Party of Follow the Science™ is going about proving yet again that they have absolutely no idea what following the science means, the rest of us are out here shaking our heads at the ridiculousness of this behavior.

There is humor in the fact that the president has the ability to provoke crazy leftists into doing the opposite of whatever he says. However, one can also understand the frustration that many pregnant women may be feeling; a high fever can do devastating damage to the health and well-being of a preborn baby, and Tylenol is the only painkiller/fever reducer that doctors advise them to take.

There is a darker commentary to be expressed here as well. This trend shows, yet again, how little leftist women value human life or their role in protecting the vulnerable. Autism, though not a death sentence, is certainly a challenge, both for the children it affects and the parents who are tasked with raising them. But shouldn’t a mother of any sort of decency strive to do everything in her power to give God’s image-bearer, her child, the best chance at excelling?

Leftists themselves used The Science™ to manipulate pregnant women into getting the COVID vaccine. They lied about how safe it was and then gaslighted for years about the side effects. They did it out of an outsized fear of a virus whose mortality rate is low for healthy individuals. President Trump and Secretary Kennedy did not issue an edict; they are merely trying to warn pregnant women about the potential risk of Tylenol based on scientific studies.

Imagine if Trump had said, “Don’t eat horse poo while pregnant.” By the leftists’ loony logic, they would happily chomp on horse puckey and think they were acting nobly as their buddies cheer them on. While eating animal excrement probably won’t kill you or your baby, why take the risk if you don’t have to?

These women are so deranged and twisted that they are happy to sacrifice anything and everything to prove that they aren’t under the authority of anyone. They will have “bodily autonomy,” even to the point of harming others. They are screaming into a void, waiting for the echoes that never come, because, ultimately, they are only hurting themselves — and potentially the tiny human lives depending on them. It’s wicked, demented, and horribly sad that they are so devoid of common sense and decency.

Imagine hating someone so much that you’d blindly do everything in your power to spite them (even if that person only wants the best for you). What a miserable existence that must be. God help them because the rest of us are at a loss.
