Leftists Are Exceedingly Anti-Family

The Left’s worldview culminates in societal destruction, and the most direct route is knocking down the building block of society: the family.

The Left’s priorities are backward if not downright immoral. The left-wing worldview is inherently anti-family and, at times, anti-human. At a basic level, almost everything leftists support turns to rubble.

Take, for example, their ostensible support for women’s rights through abortion and IVF.

Abortion, which is the worst anti-family form, is a lie that the Left tells women to convince them that killing their preborn children is a valid choice.

And despite in vitro fertilization (IVF) being presented as a solution for couples struggling with infertility, in reality, it’s much more morally fraught. IVF makes a baby in a petri dish by harvesting a woman’s egg and a man’s sperm, and that new life is then implanted in a woman’s womb.

IVF is largely unregulated. Mix-ups happen, and embryos are often put on ice for years, if not in perpetuity. Clinics aren’t held responsible for negligent death if the embryos are destroyed either through accident or purpose.

Moreover, unscrupulous people can obtain these embryos. Some are single men with perverted intentions, and some are LGBTQ+ individuals looking to circumvent the natural drawback to their lifestyle choice.

Some people also use IVF as a form of eugenics to create children of their own design.

Ultimately, IVF is a perfect example of the proverbial road paved with good intentions.

Meanwhile, the Left demonizes the commonsense alternative to infertility known as restorative reproductive medicine, or RRM, in which doctors treat the underlying health conditions of infertility. RRM is not always successful, but it tends to provide a path to better overall health.

Madeline Kearns, who writes for The Free Press, has an extensive article explaining how this approach enabled her and her husband to conceive. Instead of pipelining the couple into IVF, a doctor discovered that Kearns had endometriosis, and once it was surgically treated, she was able to carry a daughter.

Kearns points out that RRM is politicized, just like all medicine. The Left sees it as “conservative quackery” and has attempted to dissuade couples from pursuing it, even though it helps families without resorting to the morally compromising, expensive, and invasive IVF.

Kearns writes:

For years, [New York] Times journalists ignored mounting evidence that gender-confused children were being terribly mistreated by doctors who affirmed their symptoms rather than treating them — despite reporters such as myself, Abigail Shrier, Helen Joyce, and Jesse Singal sounding the alarm in outlets ranging from The Times of London to The Free Press. Their logic? If conservatives think it’s bad — it must be good.

The Left sees the nuclear family as bad merely because conservatives cling to its virtue.

Exhibit A of leftists attacking families is a recent exchange between Jennifer Welch and her cohost, Annie Sullivan, on their “I’ve Had It” podcast. Sullivan went on a rant about how Bible-believing Christians homeschooling their kids is weird, dumb, and indoctrinating. (Language warning.)

This whole ignorant take is worthy of an article by itself. Tellingly, Sullivan says she doesn’t trust parents who want to spend all day with their children. "I think it’s just f***ing weird as f**k that you want your kids around you all day, every day, and all night, and just the socialization,” she said. “For me personally, it was that I would have gotten up on my hands and knees and strapped them to my back and crawled to get them to school every day just to get them where I wasn’t. So I don’t trust somebody that wants to be with their kids 24/7.”

So, Sullivan would rather have someone else raise her kids. As veteran high school teacher Peter Heck pointed out, parental involvement leads to student flourishing.

“When a culture begins treating a mother’s desire to spend her days with her children, or a father’s determination to shape his son’s character firsthand, as evidence of dysfunction rather than devotion, it has lost sight of something far more fundamental than educational philosophy,” Heck says. “It has forgotten that the family is not an obstacle to a child’s flourishing. Under God’s design, it is the place where flourishing is meant to begin.”

Not only does the Left attack the family structure and the important relationship between parents and children, but it also wants to discourage people from moving to states where families are most supported, like Tennessee.

Leftists don’t want kids in this world. However, since kids are here, they bully families to the margins, explaining that children are best kept out of sight and under their control. They especially don’t trust Christian homeschool parents who like their kids.

The Left might argue that it is pro-family and pro-children, that it cares deeply about poor people in far-away places (unless they’re Jewish). But families impede their agenda of societal destruction.
