‘Mr Castro: Tear Down This Wall’
One of Barack Obama’s fanboys over at MSNBC, Ed Schultz, weighed in on the president’s capitulation to Communist Cuba, drawing a parallel to one of Ronald Reagan’s iconic foreign policy achievements. “Isn’t this Barack Obama’s ‘Tear down this wall, Mr. Castro’ – that kind of a moment?” Schultz pondered. “I mean, if change can take place with the Soviet Union, why can’t it take place with the Cuban people here?” Well, Mr. Schultz, the reason this is not Obama’s ‘Tear Down This Wall’ moment is because Obama essentially caved to the demands of a dictator without any assurances of positive transformation. Change took place in Communist Russia because of the exceptional leadership displayed by President Reagan, who used aggression, not regression, and peace through strength, not peace through weakness, to dismantle the Soviet Union.
