Rangel Says ‘Free’ College Important to Security
There’s no denying America’s income disparity has grown. Regardless of what the headline employment numbers says, the middle class is being squeezed from every direction even as Wall Street boasts record profits. Democrats have it easy – all they have to do is cast blame on “greedy” Corporate America when pitching income mobility to their constituents to foment support for their income redistribution scheme. Conservatives have the more difficult task of explaining basic economics to millennials, who are up to date on the latest pop culture fad but have no idea that MLK didn’t deliver a speech Monday in Washington. Enter Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY). “The president’s recommendation that we have two years of free college is really so important to the security of the United States of America,” Rangel explained, the reason being that education is the only sure way to elevate the middle class. Never mind how that assertion justifies nationalizing education; how can we fix a problem if we refuse to call a spade a spade? Corporations refuse to invest money because of Democrats’ economic policies. We’ve come a long way, but uncertainty and regulatory shackles are holding back the recovery. That’s not to say education isn’t important – it’s imperative when it doesn’t involve things like women’s gender studies – but another socialist boondoggle doesn’t address the issues largely responsible for today’s expanding income gap. If there’s one thing even more important to the security of the United States, it’s incorruptible congressmen.
