Sandy Hook Commission Recommends Useless Gun Control
The Sandy Hook Commission, charged with preventing another mass shooting from ever happening again, released its final report that recommended gun control so unpalatable even Connecticut’s liberal governor admitted such legislation is politically impossible. Here’s what the commission said about the ubiquitous AR-15 rifle: “The Commission is deeply concerned about the proliferation, throughout the civilian population, of weapons that were specifically designed for military use during wartime. ―Assault weapons like the AR-15, as well as large capacity magazines often used with those weapons, have no legitimate place in the civilian population. Among its recommended changes, the commission wants serialized ammunition and the ability for judges to revoke the right to keep and bear arms in The Constitution State. But Governor Dannel Malloy said the Democrat-controlled legislature doesn’t have the desire to debate more gun control, even though he thinks “there are things that can be done,” like requiring a gun lock with every firearm purchase. The problem is, the Sandy Hook Commission went for the solution obvious to liberals without exploring the underlying causes of the Sandy Hook murders. More…
