Giving Thanks

In this, the week of our national Thanksgiving observance, please know that we are most grateful to count you among the growing ranks of our Patriot readers. By virtue of your patronage, we know that you are already standing on many frontlines in honor and defense of our nation’s proud heritage of justice and liberty.

You are Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen standing in harm’s way around the world. You are moms, dads and other family members nurturing the next generation of young patriots. You are grassroots leaders and local, state and national officeholders. You are students and professors at colleges and universities, often standing alone for what is good and right. You are employees and employers and professionals. You are in ministry at home and missionaries abroad. You are American Patriots from all walks of life that “hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Throughout history the burden of keeping the flame of liberty bright has fallen on the shoulders of a few men and women. As our Founding Patriots understood at the dawn of our nation, an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men, will prevail. That describes YOU!

The Patriot’s Annual Fund is completely donor supported so we can offer our publication without charge to countless thousands of our uniformed Patriots, students and those in ministry or other professions with limited financial means. But publishing, like freedom, is not free. We employ the services of 25 feature and content editors, a formidable research and analysis team, and management and technical staff. Internet publishing requires a lot of technical hardware, custom software, installations and offices, etc. We also have substantial legal, accounting and insurance costs. That having been said, we publish The Patriot for less than one dollar per reader per year.

However, the actual cost per reader is much less because our readers forward our publications to hundreds of thousands of others, and repost our content on blogs, social networking sites and personal Web sites. High school, college and university professors use our content to teach their students, and state political and cultural organizations reprint our content in their publications.

The Patriot Post is one of the nation’s most effective advocates for individual liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and the promotion of free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values.

As you know, we are not sustained by any political, special interest or parent organization. We accept no online or e-mail advertising. Our operations and mission are funded by – and depend entirely upon – the voluntary financial support of American Patriots like YOU!

Our nation is at a critical juncture – we face significant political threats to liberty within our borders and menacing enemies abroad. If you are able, and have not already done so, I ask that you please take a minute to support our mission and operations budget with a contribution to The Patriot’s 2009 Annual Fund – however large or small. As with other mission-based, donor-supported organizations, we raise most of our budget in the last two months of each year. At latest accounting, we still must raise $266,724 before year’s end.
