Fact-Checking Snopes. Again.
The leftist rag doesn’t have a great track record on, you know, the facts.
“We have put together … the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.” So said Joe Biden in a discussion about voting a few days ago. He either meant to say “voter registration organization” or that Democrats are organizing to prevent voter fraud. But if the shoe fits…
Evidently, someone forgot to tell the stick-in-the-mud “fact-checkers” over at Snopes that Republicans like to make fun of Biden’s gaffes. (Kind of like the time Snopes “fact-checked” The Babylon Bee’s humorous satire, or the time Snopes libeled us for our Hillary Clinton meme.) Snopes slapped a “FALSE” rating on the Twitter feeds of both RNC Research and White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany for getting some mileage out of Biden’s misstep.
How did they distort what Biden said? They ran video of him saying it and quoted him.
Stunning, we know.

We think it should be apparent that McEnany and the RNC did not believe Biden had somehow just confessed to running a gigantic nefarious enterprise. Yes, we live in a time when you have to preface this sort of thing with something like “We’re joking, but…” or “Can you believe he slipped up like this?” Even then, there’s no guarantee.
But let’s get serious for a moment about voter fraud, since the Leftmedia won’t. Snopes helpfully explains that what Biden was really doing in context was encouraging Democrat voters “not to be intimidated by what he cast as efforts by Republicans and the Trump administration to suppress voting, especially by people of color.”
Fair enough. Context matters, and by stripping words out of context you can make politicians say all sorts of things that they didn’t say. But Republicans argue, with facts to back them up, that Democrats do indeed engage in voter fraud. Thus it’s funny when their leader “admits” it. Democrats, by contrast, cannot prove their divisive and racist charge that Republicans are suppressing minority votes.
That doesn’t mean they won’t keep saying it. Remember Stacey Abrams, the erstwhile gubernatorial candidate in Georgia and twinkle in Biden’s eye as a possible running mate? Abrams ran a “voter registration” organization that harvested questionable registration applications and dumped them on her opponent, then-Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp. The objective? Get him to throw them out as bogus, which he did, and then blame him for suppressing votes and spend two years complaining about a “stolen election.”
Abrams is but one prominent example of this type of Democrat operation. Fortunately, Snopes tells us, voter fraud is just a figment of our imaginations.
Except hold the phone.
Back in August, you may recall our story on the Democrats’ fever dreams about President Donald Trump removing mailboxes all over the country to slow down the collection of mail-in ballots and hurt Democrats. Snopes looked into that, carefully framing the story, however, and cherry-picking a few leftist claims just so they could be proven “Mostly True.”
Snopes did much the same thing with its “fact-check” on whether mail-in ballots increase the risk of voter fraud. Does sending unsolicited ballots to every residence increase the risk of fraud? Absolutely. Did Snopes deliberately conflate carpet-bombed ballots with properly requested absentee ballots to muddy the waters? Absolutely. Trump was not as clear as he should have been, but then again, wasn’t that the issue with the Biden quote we started with?
Just to recap, Snopes “fact-checked” Republicans on a revealing gaffe to protect Biden. Snopes “fact-checked” the president when he was expressing legitimate concern, all in an effort to protect Biden. When it was Democrats fomenting panic, however, Snopes effectively verified a hoax to protect Biden. Are you detecting a theme with “fact-checkers”? We sure are.
