Biden Renews Dem Assault on Voting
Democrats’ goal is to gin up racial angst over Republican efforts to run orderly elections with integrity.
“Selma is a reckoning,” Joe Biden declared from the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, where he traveled yesterday to commemorate tomorrow’s 58th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday” by race-baiting and gaslighting about “voting rights.” Make no mistake: Biden and his fellow Democrats have grossly tarnished the legacy of Martin Luther King, John Lewis, and other civil rights figures they claim to memorialize for their actions in support of actual voting rights back in 1965.
What Democrats want now is to trash the Constitution and destroy election integrity permanently, while painting Republicans as racists for objecting to their ruse.
“The right to vote and to have your vote counted is the threshold of democracy and liberty,” Biden said. “This fundamental right remains under assault. The conservative Supreme Court has gutted the Voting Rights Act over the years. Since the 2020 election, a wave of states [has passed] dozens — dozens of anti-voting laws fueled by the ‘Big Lie’ and the election deniers now elected to office.”
“All of this after a deadly insurrection on January the 6th,” he disgracefully added. Deadly indeed, but not in the way he wants you to believe.
Biden doesn’t mean “election deniers” like Hakeem Jeffries, the Democrat House minority leader who along with most of Biden’s party refused to accept the results of the 2016 election. (And that’s to say nothing of Democrat denials in 2004 or 2000.) No, the president is talking about the folks who don’t believe Basement Joe Biden got all 81 million of those 2020 votes entirely legitimately.
Unfortunately, some of Donald Trump’s legal team and supporters got sidetracked by voting machines when they should have focused on the actual problem in 2020 — expansive new election rules designed “for the pandemic” that enabled a huge increase in under-verified mail-in ballots. Democrats used this bulk-mail ballot strategy to drastically increase the number of ballots for which essentially the only gauntlet for integrity was an under-trained volunteer quickly examining a signature.
California was one of a handful of states that mailed ballots to everyone regardless of whether it was even requested. The opportunity for fraud is astounding. California accounted for roughly five million of Biden’s margin of seven million votes nationwide.
If Biden had lost, Democrats would have vigorously ramped up their assault on the Electoral College. Given that he won the Electoral College by about 43,000 votes in three states, they saved that one in their back pocket for the next repeat of 2016. Republican presidential candidates have lost seven of the last eight national popular votes, and Democrats seem to think that means they’re entitled to the White House. Yet that fact — remember California — is a great reminder of the brilliance of the Constitution’s Electoral College.
So, what are Republican states doing that is supposedly so racist? Requiring voter ID and mildly rolling back some pandemic voting expansions.
Democrats want you to think this is the return of police dogs and firehoses.
What do they want to do with voting? Block, at the federal level, state laws requiring voter ID, as well as mandate 15 days of early and expanded mail-in voting. They want HR 1 (the Freedom to Vote Act) and HR 4 (the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act) to unconstitutionally federalize election law according to rules that will always help Democrats win.
Biden is decrying the “Big Lie” while repeating the Big Lie about voter suppression.
He’s also telling only a select part of the story. He mentioned the Voting Rights Act, of course, though he didn’t mention that a higher percentage of Republicans voted for it than Democrats.
In a related bit of selective history, some might recall President Lyndon B. Johnson’s remarks a few days after Bloody Sunday. “There is no issue of states’ rights or national rights,” said LBJ. “There is only the struggle for human rights. We have already waited 100 years and more, and the time for waiting is gone.”
For some reason, leftists would rather forget Johnson’s boasting about Democrat motivations for doing a 180 on the black vote. Regarding passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Johnson said, “I’ll have those ni**ers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.”
That racism is still the motivation for Democrats. Any black who thinks for himself and is led to vote Republican is an “Uncle Tom,” or, as Joe Biden said in 2020, “ain’t black.” Any Republican who advocates for election integrity is both a “denier” and a “racist.”
The trouble is that fairy tale about victims and oppressors is a powerful one for Democrats. Republican had best figure out how to counter it, or they’ll lose the next seven presidential elections too.
