Re: California Mandates Electric Big Rigs

“The trucking companies will ultimately have only one way to counter the rising/prohibitive cost of doing business in coo-coo land: Don’t do business there. How long will the ‘great unwashed’ endure without their daily tofu or sushi? The rising tide of fleeing residents from this ‘Golden’ State will become a tsunami that other states will be hard put to control and assist. The near-term answer to this potential problem is to dump these dummies now while you still have the gasoline to get out of Dodge.” —Texas

“As a former trucker, now semi-retired, I can tell you that there will be pushback to California’s rules, mainly in the form of lack of service. Not enough trucks, not enough drivers, too much freight not being moved, and goods going to other ports at greater cost. There may be some relief in interlining at the California state line, but where is California going to get the resources to get the freight to the line? I can see a huge opportunity for Oregon and Washington State to become competitive, and even Vancouver.” —Ontario, Canada

“I’m waiting for CARB to state that ships entering the ports must use sails and not fossil fuels. This is what happens when bureaucrats are ignorant of the needed technologies and infrastructure for this idiocy to even have a chance to work. Even if the infrastructure were in place, the fact California claims to be going 100% ‘renewable’ means there would be no electricity to charge the huge batteries needed for this huge fleet of trucks to move product in and out of the ports. Talk about a pipe dream (or nightmare).” —Colorado

“This is a golden opportunity for Mexican ports on the Pacific Ocean. Construction of a freight highway and railroad from those ports to Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona, would provide a lower-cost alternative under the terms of the USMCA trade agreement. One might think the California ports would replace trucks with rail service, but labor rules and the California savages who regularly dump litter in rail yards and steal from the cars make this unlikely to be reasonably profitable. This is another consequence of California’s excess of regulation and paucity of true law enforcement.” —Minnesota

Re: ‘The Chosen’ Chooses Poorly

“Well said. The problem with homosexual sin is that it doesn’t rest; it wants to recruit and force itself on everyone (Genesis 19). If people want to do those things, it is their prerogative, but I don’t have to approve of it, and I don’t — but that doesn’t make me a homophobe or a bigot or a hateful person, and it doesn’t motivate me to force my lifestyle on them, as they attempt to do on me. Every man and woman will stand before God and give an account for their life and their sins, whether they believe it or not. I am certain that Jesus loves them as well, but need His regeneration. It is very sad that those who are supposed to represent God and His word have turned away from it to justify sin.” —Texas

“This is clearly a mistake. Dallas Jenkins and his writers put so much effort into being scripturally correct that to fall into the trap of ‘Pride Month’ has got to be a mistake and can only be attributed to tone-deafness. One can certainly tell of Jesus’s love for God’s children without portraying to the world that one’s sexual proclivities are something to be proud of. I am a huge ‘Chosen’ fan, but this may prove the biblical admonition that pride goes before the fall and lead to the collapse of a promising ministry. I know that I will think twice before contributing my money to future production of the series.” —Pennsylvania

“Literally, the best article I’ve ever read on The Patriot Post. God bless you.” —Washington

Re: Good News: Musk Cans a Speech Suppressor

“Twitter has never made money, and in fact was hemorrhaging when Musk bought it. It was artificially elevated as it was just because of its lefty friends. Elon did us a favor. Cut a huge amount of the overhead out, and if he keeps to his guns, he will profit.” —Montana

Re: Hanoi Jane Is at It Again

“As a retired USAF medical officer who cared for many POW/MIA families during the Vietnam era, there is nothing Hanoi Jane could say or do that would increase my disgust for her actions and opinions. She is at the far end of the Bell-shaped distribution curve of patriotism and valor.” —Washington

Re: School Choice Gaining Momentum

“It seems to me that the government is doing everything it can to dumb down and indoctrinate young people. After all, a ‘useful idiot’ is easier to control and influence than a well-educated person. The same can be said of the welfare programs that reward those who prefer to be taken care of in exchange for their votes. An ignorant, easily influenced populace is doomed to be controlled by those who tell them they know what’s best for them.” —Florida

Re: Friday: Below the Fold

“‘Sologamy’ is not as novel as CNN might wish. In 1996, the NBA’s resident eccentric comedian Dennis Rodman put on a wedding dress and announced that he was marrying himself. I suspect such behavior now goes beyond mere narcissism. In a decadent society of rapid changes, novelty itself becomes routine and humdrum. In a search for relevance, some look for something unusual to make themselves stand out, but instead become only chasers of the latest fad. In this environment, evangelists of Christ ought to find opportunity, for the spirit — not of fear, "but of power, and love, and a sound mind” — is now the unusual and radical. It is in Christ that we find true relevance, understanding, and an always faithful Friend.“ —Minnesota
