Observations on the week’s analysis and commentary.

Editor’s Note: Thank you for sending comments on our news, policy, and opinion — we review every one of them. Here are a few reader perspectives, which don’t necessarily reflect those of The Patriot Post.

Re: Coup Chaos Amplifies Vulnerability of Putin’s Authority

“As a retired career intel officer, I found Alexander’s analysis of Putin’s predicament the most concise analytical takedown to be found outside of the morning Russia desk briefing. And I’m still laughing at Alexander’s comment, ‘I doubt Biden’s claim of no involvement, because the coup failed, and every foreign policy hand Biden has played has failed.’” —Virginia

“Bondarev’s protest of Putin is of absolute importance. The object lesson of him saying ‘those who conceived this war’ want power, wealth, control, and impunity forever cannot be glossed over or ignored. This inhumanity is NOT desired by the Russian people; it’s a PERSONAL power grab born out of the malevolence and greed that’s innate within the persons involved, chief of whom is Putin. The lesson? Every culture has people like Putin, to one degree or another. How many of our political class pursue wealth and power instead of selfless public service? How many have become multi-millionaires as a result of being in office? How many commit crimes and are shielded from prosecution? Our onus is to see them and expel them from our government.” —Illinois

Re: Huntergate: The Scandal Deepens and Widens

“The FBI has, throughout my 70+ years, always been a corrupt organization, constantly marching to the whims of whoever holds the power in Congress. It and the IRS have done more damage to our Constitution and country than all the foreign agents put together. This administration has simply been more up front and in your face with its corruption.” —West Virginia

Re: Huntergate: The Cover-Up Is Unraveling

“Questions I want answers to: Why has no one asked anyone in the media how they differ from Goebbels and Pravda? Why haven’t Republicans done anything about Blinkin, who requested Mike Morrell to ask 50 former intel people to sign a letter saying the laptop was Russian disinformation? Republicans are doing their usual nothing instead of issuing subpoenas to the people who signed the letter.” —Minnesota

Re: Biden Backs Down to China

“Only the Biden lovers could ignore the marriage between Biden and China, and now we see the consequences. He does nothing when they float a huge balloon over half the country. Xi is now ignoring him and most likely laughing at what a weak opponent he is. Do Biden and his defenders recognize how dangerous this is the the U.S. — to the country Biden is sworn to protect? And yet he shrivels up even more because he can’t do anything about it without the Chinese exposing him and Hunter. This is ugly.” —New York

Re: Shaky Joe and Not-Ready-for-Prime-Time Kamala

“Biden did the same thing that Obama did. He picked a VP bad enough that no one would think or try to oust him because the successor (the cure) would be worse than him (the disease). That’s why we don’t hear any 25th Amendment talk, although the Dems were happy to bring it up when Trump was in the White House.” —Virginia

“Who in the Democrat Party had the power to install Harris in the VP slot? Is there nobody in that party smart enough to see what a predicament it would be to put a moron behind a shaky old man? Who had the power but NOT the wisdom to think that maybe there was ONE other black female in all of government or industry that was even a slight bit more qualified?” —Nevada

“I can see where Harris would fit right in with the Democrats’ strategy. They have ramped up the insanity with Biden at the helm, and they would just go full steam ahead with Harris as well. It doesn’t matter to Democrat voters when it comes down to Trump versus anybody they might come up with. Look how many voted for Biden.” —Kansas

Re: Out With Pride Month and in With Fidelity Month

“I’m waiting for ‘Heterosexual Caucasian Month.’ It seems every other group has its own month for self-glorification and congratulations. Why not heterosexual, Caucasian males? Are they any less deserving than any other group?” —Michigan

“I applaud Prof. George for his efforts, but as a fellow Catholic, he must know the Church has long dedicated the month of June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, many years before the whole notion of a perverse Pride Month. This June dedication is providential for our times, as Jesus himself said, ‘Learn of me, for I am meek and humble of heart.’ So while it is tempting to declare June as Fidelity Month, it has an individualistic connotation that lacks full fidelity to the Church’s tradition. Let us remain in solidarity knowing that humility is indeed the proper virtue to promote this month. It is the root of fidelity and the chief virtue to combat so much that is wrong in ourselves and society today. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us.” —Texas

Re: Profiles of Valor: Gregory ‘Pappy’ Boyington

“This profile on Pappy Boyington is outstanding. The F4U Corsair is my favorite WWII fighter, but my father served with the VMF-112 ‘Wolfpack Squadron’ during WWII. They flew the F4F Wildcats and their squadron was replaced by Boyington and VMF-214.” —Colorado

“Great profile. The reason for the F4U’s ‘gull wing’ configuration was that the propeller radius had to clear the deck. You can read more about the fighter’s developmental problems here.” —Massachusetts

“I had the privilege as a young Marine of marching in his funeral at Arlington. I was stationed at the Marine Corps Barracks in Washington, DC, the oldest post in the Corps. It was a great honor and the highlight of my three years there!” —Arizona
