I’m a former Marine, so needless to say, I didn’t have much need for a big vocabulary. So when the term “dysfunctional” began to be tossed around, I thought I would increase my vocabulary to sound smarter. You can imagine how I felt when I went to Webster’s Dictionary (yeah, that long ago) and there was a picture of my family!

Okay, that’s a joke (sort of), but here’s Oxford’s definition: “Any impairment, disturbance, or deficiency in behavior.”

I’m going to use that definition and look at Joe Biden’s family through that lens. Recently, the whole world has been watching the Hunter Biden drama being played out. The “First Son” was to plead guilty to charges that didn’t even meet the minimal punishment for tax evasion and illegal gun possession, and the deal fell through.

But the saddest part of the story is the dysfunction of Hunter’s family who helped him to become who he is — the “smartest man I know,” according to Joe.

On one level, it scares me that Joe is picking the people in his administration to lead the country. People like Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Jennifer Granholm, cross-dressing Sam Brinton, and others.

But Hunter didn’t end up where he is in a vacuum. He was surrounded by it all his life. Hunter’s father is a pathological liar who wouldn’t know the truth if it bit him in the backside. Facing down “Corn Pop,” marching with civil rights activists, jailed trying to see Nelson Mandela, the smartest guy in his law school class with three degrees — Joe lies about everything and anything.

Joe spent years telling everyone how a drunk driver killed his wife and daughter, which was a bald-faced lie that destroyed the innocent driver’s life.

Then there’s Hunter’s stepmother, who allegedly entered her relationship with his father when she was still married.

How about Joe’s inappropriate showers with his daughter Ashley — the ones she mentioned in her diary and that maybe played a role in a few stints in rehab for her?

And we’re to believe 81 million people voted for him to be president of the greatest nation on the planet? Color me skeptical!

Joe’s had his share of creepy moments with children and women himself. Is that the role model for Hunter to become a good husband and father? Looking at his track record, apparently not. He was unfaithful to his first wife and exploited his brother’s widow, using drugs together. He got a stripper pregnant and didn’t want anything to do with his daughter. I don’t know how Hunter met his current wife, but I’m wondering if she knew anything about his track record before saying “I do”?

Another sad part in all of this is that Democrats and the media see nothing wrong in any of this dysfunction. Hunter crawled far down the rabbit hole of addiction; did anyone intervene in his life and tell him he had to get help? Those videos of naked Hunter doing drugs and having sex with prostitutes will be out there in cyberspace forever!

I pray for Joe Biden and his family every day. God’s grace is available for everyone, including the Bidens. But I also pray that all of Joe’s lies and illegal, immoral, unethical, and unscriptural dealings will be brought out into the light of day for all to see if he does not humble himself under God’s hand. It may be happening as I write these words. God will not be mocked!
