It was written by a man who walked the walk, until the war in Iraq changed that equation forever. And while it focuses on that war, it is a devastatingly accurate portrait of our current Commander-in-Chief, in all his feckless, lead-from-behind, hypocritical glory. In addition, it unambiguously, if inadvertently, illuminates why America's foreign policy is a shambles from Ukraine and Iran, to Syria and North Korea, and why for a substantial number of Americans, the debacle in Benghazi will never, *ever* be swept under the rug...
On Monday, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda signed into law harsh, anti-gay legislation. The law includes provisions that would jail repeat offenders for life, outlaw any promotion of homosexuality, and require the Ugandan people to denounce it. In the face of genuine persecution of gay people, of course, the LGBT community and their supporters are conspicuously silent. And while the Obama administration has released a statement criticizing the law, most black activists remain completely MIA as well, including the man leading the charge against the anti-gay marriage agenda in America, Eric Holder. This largely non-reaction to the far more serious developments in Uganda stands in stark contrast to the efforts by both entities on the home front. Holder, who wholeheartedly embraces the selective law enforcement agenda that has become the trademark of the Obama administration, has extended that agenda to the gay marriage debate. Speaking to the National Association of Attorneys General on Tuesday, Holder advised his state counterparts that they needn't defend the laws of their states they consider discriminatory.

Under the guise of examining, as the FCC puts it, "the barriers that may prevent entrepreneurs and small business from competing in the media marketplace" the so-called "Cin Study" is nothing less than a bald-faced attempt to intimidate those who refuse to abide by the FFC's determination of a community's "critical needs." Eight of those needs were identified by the study.

Yesterday, Republicans once again reinforced my contention that the Obama administration's modus operandi -- as in "we're going to do whatever we want and we dare you to stop us" -- will remain unchallenged by the GOP. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) told "Fox News Sunday" that Congressional Republicans believe Obama has abused the government's separation of powers by using executive orders and sidestepping Congress to delay the employer mandate in ObamaCare. But because Congress lacks "legal standing" to present the case in court, and would have a "tough time" finding a plaintiff sufficiently injured by the delay to make a lawsuit viable, there's nothing they can do.

It is Sunday. Unlike a lot of Americans for whom Sunday is a day off, I am sitting at my desk writing this column. Ironically, what I do is called "freelance" writing. I say ironically, because the word freelance is somewhat misleading. Unlike a lot of other Americans who, according to Harry Reid (D-NV), have been freed from "job-lock" due to the wonders of the ObamaCare, I am as job-locked as any job-locked American could be. Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. While there is relatively little monetary reward for this particular profession, there is a lot of satisfaction to be gained from doing something a bit creative and, as most writers fervently hope, useful in the larger sense. That larger sense is contributing to the national conversation in a meaningful way. Sometimes my efforts are more meaningful than others, due to the nature of the subject matter, and/or the quality of my insights. But I give it my best shot, and live with the compliments -- or complaints.

They are the group of Beltway insiders so thoroughly convinced they own the franchise on proper thinking, they would align themselves with progressive Democrats, rather than principled members of their own party.
