Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was an issue so compelling, it could unite Americans of every ideological stripe? Well, not everyone, just Americans who are beginning to understand the long-term effects of the concerted effort to destroy national sovereignty. What's that you say? You didn't know there was an effort underway to destroy our national sovereignty? Four words should give you a clue: too big to fail. Full disclosure: I am an unabashed free-market capitalist who, to paraphrase Winston Churchill, believes it is the worst economic system in the world — save for all the other ones. However it is the adjective preceding the word "capitalist" that is the one on the verge of being swept onto the ash heap of history. In the modern age, the term "free-market" has been almost completely subsumed by the word "crony" in all its government-aligned, competition-crushing, "bail us out when we screw up" glory.

It's a rare moment in modern-day America to encounter a person with genuine class. It's even rarer when that person is all of 21 years old. Throw in the fact that he's a professional athlete and we have reached a trifecta of improbability. Nonetheless it is worth taking time off from chronicling the usual assortment of morally-jaded creeps, crooks, narcissists and egomaniacs to acquaint non-golfing Americans with a young man named Jordan Spieth. Last weekend, Spieth realized a goal he had set for himself at the age of 14. "My ultimate goal when I came here, Cam (golf instructor Cameron McCormick) asked me and I said that I want to win The Masters," Spieth revealed during an interview in 2008. On Sunday he did just that, capturing the title in the first of golf's four annual Majors (the U.S Open, the British Open and the PGA are the other three) that define the difference between a good golfing career and a great one. Yet winning the Masters, the only Major held at the same Augusta National Golf Club every year, is a victory most golfers see as the game's ultimate triumph.

Dear Christian Americans, it's cards on the table time. As someone who deeply respects your faith, I feel compelled to offer you some heartfelt advice: That "turn the other cheek" thing isn't working anymore. Those who have spent considerable time with unabashed jokesters know they have a way of avoiding repetition. "Stop me if you've heard this one before," the wag usually declares, prior to rattling off his latest laugh-line. And make no mistake: we have heard this one before, courtesy of another Democrat administration and their pursuit of a treaty aimed at preventing a rogue nation from going nuclear. Anyone still remember the Agreed Framework of 1994? That was another "peace in our time" gem put together by President Bill Clinton and his "emissary," the unstintingly naive Jimmy Carter.

Also, we'd like to know how driving the getaway car for a cop-killer constitutes a qualification to teach college."—columnist Ann Coulter This, my fellow Americans, is an idea whose time has come for the simplest of reasons: it is the American taxpayer who is ultimately responsible for any and all defaults on student loans. And the amount of outstanding debt is staggering, currently amounting to $1.6 trillion and projected to reach the $2 trillion mark by 2022. The average debt load carried by each student is now approaching $30,000, and a staggering one-in-five American households are currently on the hook. Those pursuing advanced degrees can ring up a tab of over $100,000.

Anyone still remember the left's apoplexy when they discovered Richard Nixon had an enemies list? Last week, I named three people I suspected might be on Barack Obama's equally contemptible equivalent. They were Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. One week later that educated guess is looking like a stone cold winner. Let's begin with Hillary and the email scandal that threatens to derail her presidential ambitions. The reliably useful idiot James Carville is once again manning the ramparts. Fresh off last last week's assertion that Hillary was the victim of a press corps that has swallowed "right-wing talking points," Carville is promoting the laughable nonsense the same press corps "has one standard for covering everyone else in public life, and another standard for the Clintons." No doubt it's pure coincidence that Carville's spew has been published by Media Matters, whose founder David Brock not only assured us it was Republicans who "try to breathe new life into an old scandal," but that the Clintons "are held to a double standard when it comes to media scrutiny." That coincidence has one more twist to consider: Brock has hired Carville as a regular columnist. Apparently the noble effort of repeating a lie often enough it becomes the truth is a job that requires more than one propagandist.

Can America trust Hillary to decide what emails are fit for the public’s eyes?
No the exposure of Hillary Clinton's email debacle, Sen. Bob Menendez's (D-NJ) indictment and Obama's appointment of Robert Malley to replace Phil Gordon as Special Assistant to the President and White House Coordinator for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf Region—all in the same week—is pure coincidence. Or is it? The White House has known about Clinton's emails since last August, the Menendez investigation has been ongoing since 2012, and Obama previously severed ties with Malley in 2008 following a British Times report that he had met with U.S. designated terror group Hamas on behalf of George Soros' International Crisis Group. The real story: Clinton is likely to distance herself from Obama's disastrous Iranian negotiations, Menendez already has, and Gordon is a big thumb in the eye for Obama's chief nemesis in that regard, namely Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. So if it seems as if our arrogant Oval Office occupant has a penchant for sticking it to those who dare to defy his "superior" wisdom, that's because he does.

Is there anything the Obama administration, Democrats, their media allies and their fellow progressives hate more than the rule of law if that law doesn't accrue to their benefit? The long knives are out in force right now because on Wednesday, the Supreme Court is to begin hearing oral arguments in King v. Burwell, challenging a critical aspect ObamaCare. And as American Spectator's David Catron rightly points out what the Court will ultimately be deciding extends far beyond the healthcare bill. It will be deciding whether we remain a nation of laws, or become a nation of men. The law itself isn't debatable, and ironically it is former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's infamous words that return to haunt the American left. It was Pelosi who insisted Democrats would have to pass ObamaCare before Americans could find out what's in it. So the law passed and some Americans decided to take up Pelosi's challenge. What they discovered was states had the option of setting up their own health exchanges, or letting the federal government set them up. They further discovered that premium subsidies for millions of Americans were legally limited to those exchanges "established by the state." Once again, according to the law itself, those states refusing to set up their own exchanges would not be eligible for those subsidies, totaling more that $25 billion and affecting approximately 8 million Americans in the 34 states that refused to set up those exchanges.
