‘But the Democrats are Hypocrites!’
This week, the Washington Post reported that the CIA now believes that Russian-supported hacks of the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign chair John Podesta were designed to boost Donald Trump’s election prospects. The FBI apparently disagrees; it believes that the Russian intervention was designed to undermine faith in the election system generally. But all intelligence agencies agree that there was Russian support for the hacks themselves.
Will Anti-ISIS Strategy Backfire at an Open Border?
In combating the Islamic State, has the current administration pursued a strategy that increases or decreases the terrorist threat to people in the United States? The U.S.-led military campaign against “ISIL” in Iraq and Syria began in August 2014. “First, we will conduct a systematic campaign of airstrikes against these terrorists,” Obama explained in a Sept. 10, 2014 speech.

President-elect Donald Trump has warned companies that they are not going to leave the United States anymore “without consequences.” He has lived up to his threat by pressuring Carrier to give up its planned move to Monterrey, Mexico, in exchange for a taxpayer handout. It is a safe bet that other U.S. companies will be descending on Washington looking for handouts in the name of “fair trade” and “leveling the playing field.”
School Doubles Down on Charlie Brown Christmas Ban
A Texas school district said an employee forced her religious beliefs on students after she decorated an office door with a scene from the cherished holiday classic, “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Dedra Shannon, who works at Patterson Middle School in Killeen, was told she had to remove a door-length poster featuring Linus, a scrawny tree and that beautiful recitation of the true meaning of Christmas.
Trump and the Russian Hacking Claims: A Toxic Situation
Of course Donald Trump thinks it’s “ridiculous” to claim the Russians rigged the election for him. Even if Vladimir Putin confessed to the crime on Russia Today, Trump would not believe it, because to do so is not in his nature. I do not want to shock the reader, but Trump has a very high opinion of himself and a tendency to reject evidence that contradicts that opinion, combined with an eagerness to find corroboration of his self-regard wherever possible. For instance, during the campaign he could never concede that online polls weren’t scientific, because the results of these polls confirmed that Trump was terrific, fabulous and tremendous.

My last column was titled “Is Donald Trump a Misogynist?” After reading reactions throughout the internet, I realize how important it is to elaborate on the subject of how men view women. One of the proofs that higher education makes those who attend college more foolish, more naive and often even more ignorant about life than those who never attended college is the widespread belief among the well-educated that when men sexually objectify women it means that they are misogynists, haters of women.
