A while ago, I had occasion to mention that librarians were among my favorite people. I didn’t go into any details except to say that when I was about 11 years old, a librarian commented on the heaviness of the books I was checking out, and because I thought she was referring to their actual weight, I showed her the satchel I had brought along. I was a couple of blocks away before it occurred to me that she was referring to the mature nature of the material, and I was truly impressed that she hadn’t busted out laughing. Heck, it even struck me as funny in an embarrassing sort of way.

The Politics of Hate
One family canceled Thanksgiving dinner so they wouldn’t have to be with pro-Trump relatives. Another family canceled a Christmas reunion for the same reason. One couple changed the date of their wedding so that a pro-Trump relative wouldn’t be able to attend. Another couple chose to get married in Italy — a place too distant for their relatives to travel to. These are just a few of the ruptures that have followed the election of Donald Trump, as reported by The New York Times.
Sorry, but the Accurate Legal Term Is ‘Illegal Alien’
The College Fix is reporting that the politically correct Rutgers University student newspaper, the Daily Targum, has fired columnist Aviv Khavich for trying to use the term “illegal alien” in a column about illegal immigration. After he complained to his editor that she had changed illegal alien” to “undocumented immigrant” in a column he submitted, he was fired.
