Disarray? Establishment Elites Are Losing, Iran Deal Illegal, Media Manipulation
Virtually every media outlet is declaring the Republican Party to be in a state of disarray, crisis or chaos. But what the media call disarray is just competition and debate about which leader is best able to fashion a strategy for dealing with a president who is willing to do almost anything to enact his agenda — with or without Congress. Reports today indicate that Obama is preparing to use executive actions to bypass Congress in order to further restrict Second Amendment rights.
Heartland Fury as University Renovates Chapel to Accommodate Muslims
A decision to make a university's chapel "faith neutral" to accommodate Muslim students has created great angst in the nation's Heartland after critics were accused of being Islamophobic. Last May, Wichita State University ordered workers to remove all the pews and an altar inside the Harvey D. Grace Memorial Chapel. The pews were ripped from the floor and replaced with portable chairs to make room for Muslim prayer rugs.
Consorting With Angels
As some of you are aware, I was recently AWOL. I was off my computer because I was overseeing the shooting of one of my comedy screenplays, "Angels on Tap," down in El Segundo, a beach community adjacent to the south side of LAX. Because we were using the local Moose Lodge, we only had access from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m., the hours when it wasn't open to its members. When you are accustomed, as I am, to going to sleep after midnight, you can understand that I was a basket case from sleep deprivation long before we had crossed the finish line.

'Saturday Night Live' Donates to Hillary's Campaign
"Lean on me, when you're not strong, and I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on." The Bill Withers song has been covered by countless artists, but the rendition of "Lean on Me" performed in a duet last weekend on the season premiere of "Saturday Night Live" had novel poignancy. It was sung by Kate McKinnon, the show's go-to impersonator of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and Mrs. Clinton herself.

The House Republican Meltdown
At least they aren't brawling the way they do in the South Korean parliament — at least not yet. House Republicans have over the past few weeks seen their speaker, John Boehner, announce his imminent resignation under pressure and his heir apparent, Kevin McCarthy, suddenly give up on trying to succeed him — all while the party enjoys a comfortable majority and faces no external threat from Democrats.
What Common-Sense Gun Control Looks Like
Last Thursday, as Americans were still coming to grips with the tragic rampage in Oregon, President Obama addressed the American people. An hour before the president spoke, news outlets were confirming that the shooter in Oregon had targeted his victims based on their religion.
Unlock 'em Up?
The Justice Department has announced that it will begin releasing 6,000 "nonviolent" inmates from federal prisons starting at the end of this month. Welcome to the era of de-incarceration. At a conference named for former New York Mayor David Dinkins (who presided over the city at a time of runaway crime), Hillary Clinton decried the number of Americans behind bars and declared, "It's time to change our approach. It's time to end the era of mass incarceration."
Clinton's Leftward Tack on Immigration and Guns Has Risks for November
You win the presidency, Richard Nixon supposedly observed, by tacking to the right in the primaries and to the center in the general election. Hillary Clinton seems to be following that strategy except, as a Democrat, she is tacking to the left. This strategy has risks, as Nixon, who lost the presidency once and won it once by narrow margins, understood. Your right- or left-wing stances in the primaries can hurt in the general.
Another Massacre, Another Charade
There's the cycle of poverty. There's the cycle of violence. And then there's the cycle of gun talk. It starts with a mass shooting. Gun-control advocates blame the deaths on gun-control opponents, who argue, in turn, that none of the proposed restrictions would have had any effect on the incident in question. The debate goes nowhere. The media move on.

The Media's Latest Phony Attack on Ben Carson
How about the next time the mainstream media decide to fabricate a controversy against a conservative presidential candidate, they choose something less laughable? The media's latest faux gasp concerns Dr. Ben Carson's comments about the Oregon school shooting. When I first watched news reports on it, I didn't immediately grasp the reason for the fuss, not having the artificial sensibilities of the MSM.

House Republicans were scheduled to meet behind closed doors [Thursday] to choose their nominee to replace John Boehner as speaker of the House. Daniel Webster of Florida and Jason Chaffetz of Utah had declared, as had House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy. [Wednesday], former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Speaker Newt Gingrich endorsed McCarthy, who was widely expected to emerge as the caucus nominee.

In Hollywood, anything is possible — if you're a privileged femme fraudster with cover-up pals in all the right (or rather, left) places. Last week, upper-crust Manhattanite actress Lena Dunham dropped in at the Beverly Hills home of billionaire mogul Ron Burkle, who was co-hosting an event with Hanoi Jane Fonda, organized by the Rape Foundation, to honor her longtime friend and HBO "Girls" show producer, Judd Apatow.

Time for Sensible Background Checks
In the wake of the recent homicidal shooting rampage at an Oregon community college, I'm forced to come to the conclusion that it is high time for common sense national background checks for journalists. It's time we closed the political loophole and prevented biased, ignorant political operatives from getting their hands on a dangerously misleading national microphone.
Let's Protect Intellectual Property Rights From 'Big Fix'
Fall is always a busy time on Capitol Hill. Members usually wait for this time of year to consider the most controversial and thorny issues like appropriation bills to keep the government open and tax legislation that expires at the end of the year. Deals are made and legislators look for any opening to sneak through supposed non-controversial legislation without much debate or fanfare.
