Libya, Oh Libya
I was wondering how long it would take Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to take the blame for the murder of Ambassador Stevens and the other three Americans at the Libyan consulate. After the ensuing brouhaha promised to hurt Obama's chances in November, her only choice was to throw herself under the bus or wait to be thrown. Normally, in spite of the four murders by Islamic jihadists, the American media would have glossed over the event. The New York Times, whose motto used to be "All the News That's Fit to Print" but is now "All the News That Doesn't Embarrass Barack Obama," pretty much ignored the events in Benghazi until U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice went on a bunch of Sunday news shows and pretended the attack had everything to do with a video that had an even tinier viewership than The Chris Matthews Show. As it has proven since 2008, the MSM not only doesn't object to this administration lying to the American people, but is eager to aid and abet in the deception.
Benghazi Lies: A Free Nation Hangs in the Balance
I'm going to keep repeating the message until it reaches critical mass. This is the opening paragraph of a story released today by Yahoo News: "The Pentagon defended its decision not to deploy forces to Benghazi, Libya, as soon as the U.S. mission came under attack on September 11th, saying it would have been irresponsible to put forces in harm's way without better information." "Defended its decision!!!???" This is the *first admission* by the Obama administration that a decision was *actually made!* Yet unconscionable weaseling that is the hallmark of the Obama administration remains in play. "You don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on, without having some real-time information about what's taking place," Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said.

The White House e-mails on September 11th were leaked Tuesday identifying the al-Qaeda attack on the U.S. consulate as it happened. It had nothing to do with a mob reaction to a video as claimed by the White House. If Barack Obama had been president seventy years ago he would have blamed the attack on Pearl Harbor on an anti-Japanese newsreel.
It Could Still Go Either Way
The answer to the question is: I'm here to be an official observer of the Ukrainian national elections on Sunday to select a new Parliament. I'll be back in the U.S. on Tuesday to unofficially observe our own elections. Speaking of our own elections ... Romney's bounce in the polls since the first debate remains stubbornly in place. According to the Real Clear Politics average of national polls, Romney has a lead of two percentage points in those polls that have been taken this week. Two percentage points, as we have been told over and over, is well with the margin of error (MoE) in every single poll. Still, as we have discussed before, given a choice you'd rather be ahead in a close race than behind.
Regime Change in Iran the Real Answer
The final debate between President Obama and Gov. Romney won't likely change the course of the election with barely more than a week to go, but one sticking point in the debate -- U.S. policy toward Iran -- could well change hopes for peace in the world. Although the president touted economic sanctions against Iran as the best way to stop the rogue nation from its quest for nuclear weapons, he has, from the onset of his 2008 campaign, put great faith in his own power to negotiate a solution with the mullahs. In 2008, he famously said that he would sit down with the likes of Fidel Castro, Kim Jong Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Of course, the talks never happened -- but not because President Obama wasn't willing. Castro is incapacitated, Kim is dead, and the mullahs who actually control Iran weren't interested. As a result, Iran is four years closer to nuclear weapons.
If Not 'Apologizing,' Mr. President, What Would You Call It?
OK, President Obama, if you and your defenders insist on denying that you've repeatedly apologized for America, then let's quit mincing words and acknowledge you've done worse than apologize. That works for me. Maybe it is technically inaccurate to attribute the word apology to you, because you would have to identify with America more before you could apology on its behalf. Besides, I suppose we should not be surprised in this Clinton-inspired age of word meaninglessness -- an age in which the simple word "is" no longer feels comfortable in its own skin -- that you would deny you have apologized because you didn't use the precise word "apology" in any of your shameful outings.
Obama's 'Battleship' Argument Has Holes in Its Hull
In the third and final debate, Barack Obama scored huge points with the media, college kids and die-hard liberals -- in other words, his base -- when he mocked Mitt Romney's concern about our historically small Navy. "But I think Governor Romney maybe hasn't spent enough time looking at how our military works," the president said. "You -- you mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets because the nature of our military's changed. We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines." "And so," he added, "the question is not a game of Battleship where we're counting ships," The question is "what are our capabilities."
The 'New Normal' Christianity?
NBC's sitcom "The New Normal" isn't just trying to remake society for the Gay Left. It's trying to remake Christianity, which is to say, destroy it. For its October 22 episode, "The Godparent Trap," NBC ran promos with the gay character Brian in the confessional, and the priest sneering, "If you're not going to take this seriously, I'm going to go back to playing Angry Birds." As the plot unfolds, we're told Brian was raised Catholic, and as he sits in a pew and looks around at religious pictures, he cracks gay jokes in his mind. He sees the Apostles: "Twelve dudes sitting around gossiping and drinking wine. You call that the Last Supper? I call that a Tuesday night."
What About the Camp Bastion Attack?
Three days after the bloody 9/11 siege on our consulate in Benghazi, the Taliban waged an intricately coordinated, brutal attack on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. The murderous jihadists released video exactly one month ago this week showing off their training exercises in preparation for the assault. Where are the questions? Where's the accountability? Where's the Obama administration? Where's the press? Where's the outrage? Two heroic U.S. Marines were killed in the battle. Their names -- Lt. Col. Christopher Raible and Sgt. Bradley Atwell -- have not been uttered publicly by the commander in chief. Their arrival back in the U.S., in flag-draped coffins, was not broadcast on network TV. But their brothers-in-arms did not and will not forget. And neither must we.
Then and Now
WASHINGTON -- For better than a month, the Obama administration has been dodging and weaving over what actually transpired in Benghazi, Libya, on the night of Sept. 11-12. Questions have been posed about why Ambassador Christopher Stevens was there and not at his embassy post in Tripoli. Congressional investigators have asked why he had no security detail, why the State Department decided not to send in U.S. Marine embassy security guards when they were offered months before, why contingency plans were not in place on the anniversary of 9/11 and why the O-Team insisted for so long that the attack on our U.S. diplomatic post was a "spontaneous event" and not an act of terrorism. By now, all should realize that truthful answers to these inquiries will not be furnished by the White House or State Department until after the presidential election on Nov. 6. But there is an even more important question that should be asked and answered now: Once the White House knew about the attack in Benghazi, what action did the president take to protect or save the lives of Americans?

Obama Stoops, Doesn't Conquer
*"L'etat, c'est moi."* -- Louis XIV "This nation. Me." -- Barack Obama, third presidential debate WASHINGTON -- OK, OK. I'll give you the context. Obama was talking about "when Tunisians began to protest, this nation, me, my administration, stood with them." Still. How many democratic leaders (de Gaulle excluded) would place the word "me" in such regal proximity to the word "nation"? Obama would have made a very good Bourbon. He's certainly not a very good debater. He showed it again Monday night.
Rape, God, Life and Liberals
Let's stipulate that people, and particularly politicians, can get into trouble by attempting to speak for God. But that's not the moral of the story regarding Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock. Responding to a question about abortion, Mourdock offered a grieved response -- his voice breaking a bit -- on the matter of which exceptions he favored. His Democratic opponent, Joe Donnelly, also pro-life, said that he would permit abortions in cases of rape, incest and to save the life of the mother. Mourdock said he had "struggled with it . . . for a long time," but had come to the conclusion that "life is a gift from God." Unfortunately, he didn't stop there. He added that "even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen."
Will President Obama Fire Hillary?
Bing West's column on National Review Online is hard reading. It is must reading for every American. We are more than a month into one of the worst foreign policy debacles in our history. Four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were brutally murdered in the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. That consulate *is* American sovereign territory. It is as if the Libyans came across the border into San Antonio and killed American citizens on American soil. In fact, when the Mexican bandit leader Pancho Villa came across the border into New Mexico in 1916 and killed fourteen U.S. soldiers and ten American civilians, President Woodrow Wilson took action. In an election year, no U.S. President could be seen doing nothing when violent mobs screaming "Death to Americans" shooting, killing, looting, and setting fire to our property.
Obama's Little Plan
Under pressure from Mitt Romney, President Obama has finally released his own policy vision for a second term. And, yes, it's the same old, same old. Some are calling it a second first term. There isn't a single true economic-growth incentive in this scant plan. There's no serious spending, deficit and debt reduction, and no attempt to solve the Social Security and health-entitlement problems, which are moving us toward bankruptcy. Nothing. Nada. But before getting into the details of this little plan, my basic conclusion is this: Mr. Obama wants to slash defense spending, raise all other spending and hike taxes to finance the largest government size he can possibly get.
The Me-Me President
During Monday night's debate nearly 60 million of us got a good look at why Barack Obama has not been able to accomplish anything in four years. It's his patronizing, me-me personality. Did you see how condescending he was toward Mitt Romney, not to mention downright rude at times? Obama's more-presidential-than-thou attitude, which he did little to hide or dial back at the debate, should have reminded us of what happened in the first two weeks of his administration.
Forward to Yesterday
I find it fascinating and amusing that Obama said that the GOP convention was like a re-run and should have been viewed on a black-and-white TV with rabbit ears. If I were Obama, I'm not sure if I would ever bring any sort of ears into a conversation. But that being said, if anyone is looking backwards, it's the putz who wants to claim Clinton's economy for his own. But who can blame him? At this point, he's probably ready to claim Greece's economy for his own. Before moving on, it should be mentioned that the booming economy of the 90s came about in spite of Bill Clinton, not because of him. The 90s boom owed more to Newt Gingrich and the Republican Congress that delivered tax cuts and welfare reform after the '94 elections. Prior to that, Clinton was just as big a loon as Obama as he tried to push the unfunded HillaryCare bill on America 16 years before Obama saddled us with his own even bigger and more vile version.
Obama: Half-Black but All Democrat
New York can be a lonely and desolate city. My only date on this rainy Tuesday night is Chris Matthews -- the last liberal left who will still talk to me about race. The rest of the Non-Fox Media are lying in wait, hoping I'll disappear so they can revive the old chestnuts about racist Republicans again. Among many such myths, there's Reagan's Philadelphia speech, George W. Bush's speech at Bob Jones University, someone yelling "Kill him" at the mention of Barack Obama's name at a Sarah Palin rally, tea partiers calling Rep. John Lewis the N-word, Scott Brown's red pickup truck, dog whistles, code words, and on and on and on. All of these myths are disproved in my book, "Mugged: Racial Demagoguery From the Seventies to Obama." You should brush up on the facts because liberal lies never die. They just hide from the light like cockroaches and rush back out after dark.
What Is Our Foreign Policy?
After watching the third presidential debate, are you clear on America's foreign policy? I thought not. That's because there appears to be no singular foreign policy, rather a series of foreign policies, which must be tailored to fit each nation. I expected Mitt Romney to go after President Obama on his most recent foreign policy failure, the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in which four Americans were killed, including the U.S. ambassador. The president had no explanation as to why there was inadequate security in Benghazi, preferring instead to say only that we are "going after the killers." Romney refused to press him on it. Some may have viewed this as a missed opportunity, but I think it was designed to show Romney's restraint and to counter the "do you want to get us into another Middle East war?" charge.
