Church Slams America, Desecrates ‘God Bless the USA’
There is outrage from the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee after a Methodist church in Vermont rewrote the lyrics to Lee Greenwood’s beloved song, “God Bless the USA,” and turned it into a “bash America” anthem.

Plain Speaking
When President Trump told his thousands of fans at the Fargo, North Dakota, rally, “The Democrats want to take away your Second Amendment, erase your borders, throw open the jailhouse doors and destroy your freedoms,” he sounded, if not like a raving lunatic, at least like someone who is engaging in super-charged hyperbole, tinged with a touch of paranoia. Comedians making jokes about getting your abortions now, before the Supreme Court abolishes Roe v. Wade. Emojis indicating a woman won’t have sex with a man who is anti-abortion. Headline declarations that “There’s A Special Place In Hell For Women Who Gut Abortion Rights.” Such has been the digital deluge after Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement from the Supreme Court.
What Might a Socialist American Government Do?
