That same smarter-than-the-pontiff feminist arrogance unfolded again on Oct. 1, a few days after Planned Parenthood boss Cecile Richards testified to Congress regarding that group's fetal body parts-for-profit scandal.
Cutting Off Funding to Planned Parenthood Doesn't Violate the Constitution
Some critics of the attempt to stop federal funding for Planned Parenthood, the nation's number one abortion provider, are now making the erroneous claim that to do so would be unconstitutional. However, that claim, as expressed by Drexel law professor David S. Cohen, who says that cutting off federal funding would be an unconstitutional bill of attainder (a legislative act punishing someone without a trial), is nonsense.

The propagandists of Planned Parenthood don't want you to remember that earlier this summer the group apologized for the "tone" of one of its top officials, Deborah Nucatola, who casually hawked unborn baby parts to undercover journalists from the Center for Medical Progress as she swilled wine and chomped on a salad. Not long after confessing that the "tone" of their butchers might cause offense, another top Planned Parenthood trafficker, Mary Gatter, joked about scoring a luxury car after haggling over $75 baby-organ price tags.
Planned Parenthood Can't Handle the Truth
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's questioning of Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards exposes the depravity and dishonesty of her organization. Richards and her colleagues act like cornered criminal defendants whose only defense is to dissemble and counterattack their accusers, for the truth is not in them. Planned Parenthood piously holds itself out as a benevolent, quasi-sacred entity, selflessly devoted to improving women's health. It has consistently denied critics' claims that it performs no mammograms, but at the hearing, Richards unremorsefully conceded the charge and pretended she never said otherwise. And it's not just about mammograms. Americans United for Life has shown that under Richards' leadership, there has been a marked decrease in cancer screening and breast health services while there has been an increase in abortion.
Beware the Celebrity Baby Deniers
As Planned Parenthood boss Cecile Richards prepared to testify to Congress about the filthy business she leads — thanks in large part to an infusion of a half-billion dollars in federal funds every year — her marketing team tried to change the subject to everything else. They put out a video coaching young people how to make sure they get full consent before sexual activity. This is ironic, considering the Center for Medical Progress tapes include an insider saying Planned Parenthood routinely failed to seek the mother's consent before "donating" the parts of her baby to fetal tissue researchers.
Republicans Fail at Hearings — Again
Dear Republican Members of Congress: Consider this an intervention. You guys do not understand how to hold a decent hearing. Hillary Clinton danced away from your Benghazi questions like Muhammad Ali. Your threats to hold more hearings on Planned Parenthood and Benghazi are about as frightening as President Obama's warnings to Vladimir Putin that "doubling down on Assad would be a mistake." Within hours of Obama's feeble bleat, Russian planes were dropping bombs on the Syrian resistance (not, it should be noted, on ISIS). Putin's Russia, once described by John McCain as a "gas station pretending to be a country," is now running circles around Obama — rushing to fill the power void left by American abdication in the Middle East.

When Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards testified in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee this week, Connolly fervently attempted to present himself as a champion of women.
Defunding Planned Parenthood Takes Leadership
House Speaker John Boehner, who will step down at the end of October, said on "Face the Nation" Sunday, "We have got groups here in town, members of the House and Senate here in town, who whip people into a frenzy believing they can accomplish things that they know, they know are never going to happen." The Speaker was referring to the latest threat by conservative Republicans to hold up spending authorization for the government if it includes $500 million in taxpayer funds going to Planned Parenthood.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has scheduled a vote for Monday that would fund the government through Dec. 11. The vote would *not* end taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, but rather kick the can down the road for two-and-a-half months. Make no mistake: If Planned Parenthood is not dealt with now, Congress will have zero political will to take up the cause in December. America's largest abortion provider, which performs an abortion every 90 seconds, is currently embroiled in a controversy stemming from a series of undercover videos. Delaying the debate until Christmas break is a time-tested tactic to avoid wrestling tough budgetary issues.
CR Fails, but Fight for Life Continues
[Thursday] morning, in a historic moment, Pope Francis of the Holy See addressed a Joint Meeting of Congress. "The Golden Rule," Pope Francis said, "... reminds us of our responsibility to protect and defend human life at every stage of its development." We could not agree more. The fight for the lives of the unborn in America has been raging stronger than ever, as the curtain has been pulled back and America has seen the realities of what happens at Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the nation.
Continuing on Protection for Life
If you want to hear absurd statements, ask pro-abortion politicians to defend their views on the unborn. [Tuesday], CNS News asked House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) whether "an unborn baby with a human liver and a human heart is a human being." He refused to take a position on what he called a "very, very controversial and very tough issue." CNS countered, "If it's not of the human species, what species is it?" Whip Hoyer's response? "I'm done. I'm done here." Vice President Joe Biden was questioned about his pro-abortion status conflicting with his Catholic faith. Echoing Barack Obama during his presidential race in 2008, Biden said that having a theological discussion about when life begins is "above my paygrade." He admitted that while he agrees with the Catholic Church's belief in life at conception, "I'm not prepared to say that to other God-fearing, non-God fearing people that have a different view." But supporting unrestricted abortion isn't above his pay-grade?
Shout Your Abortion?
Pope Francis is in Washington, D.C., today. He has made headlines recently for encouraging people to have mercy toward those who have committed what the church teaches is a sin — abortion. I have visited many crisis pregnancy centers, and often it is women who have had abortions who are the most articulate and passionate defenders of life. But our increasingly secular society has created a culture in which some women, instead of seeking mercy, are proud of their abortions and want to shout it from the rooftops. Pro-abortion activists have started a social media campaign called "#ShoutYourAbortion," because they are upset about the idea that abortion is a sad or negative event.
