Paris, Brussels, and 21st Century Europe
Some time ago a former student emailed me a video clip that I now show my Major European Governments course. It's a five-minute news piece by Dale Hurd of CBN News, a conservative Christian outlet — the rare kind of place where you see reports like this. The piece was on radical Islam in Europe, specifically in Belgium, and it was based on Hurd's interview with a Muslim leader in Brussels, the very heart of modern Europe, of secular Europe, of the European Union, and of everything Islamic fundamentalists despise about Europe.

Clinton's Contract
The day after Hillary Rodham Clinton became secretary of state in 2009, she signed a contract with the American people, not figuratively, but literally. She signed a Sensitive Compartmented Information Nondisclosure Agreement — a contract acknowledging that she held a very special position that would put her in possession of extremely important information. Information that had to be handled with the utmost care.

Did ISIS Bomb Plane?
Intelligence information increasingly suggests that a bomb brought down Russian Metrojet Flight 9268 over the Sinai Peninsula, killing 224 people. ISIS, which is known to be operating in the area, was quick to claim responsibility. The region is extremely popular with tourists, but the Sharm el-Sheikh airport is reportedly well-known for its lax security. It is believed that ISIS operatives smuggled a bomb on board the plane at the airport.
Religious Accommodation, or Political Favoritism?
Muslims win concessions not available to Christians.

Farewell to Clock Boy
Don't cry, America, but we are losing Ahmed Mohamed. The 14-year-old Muslim boy who built a clock (sort of) that some people mistook for a bomb (it looked like a bomb) is leaving with his family to live in Qatar. Ahmed said at a press conference on Capitol Hill [Tuesday] that he was leaving the U.S. because it is "hard" growing up in America and "going to school being a Muslim." (If he thinks it's tough here, trying going to school as a girl in Afghanistan.) I guess that sort of makes him a reverse Muslim refugee.

'Clock Boy' and America's Suicidal PC Tendencies
Last week, Muslim 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed made national news after being detained by police for bringing a deconstructed clock to his Texas school. The clock, to inexpert eyes, looked like a bomb. Ahmed's English teacher thought so and called the police; when they questioned Mohamed, he reportedly stonewalled them. They released him after realizing that the device posed no threat and was not meant as a hoax explosive. But this being Barack Obama's America, that didn't end the story.

The Clock, the Pope and Totalitarian Apologists
In Irving, Texas, a few days after the anniversary of September 11, a 14-year-old boy named Ahmed Mohamed took a clock to school that he had assembled inside a pencil case. He claimed he wanted to show it to his science teacher. Afterward, the clock started beeping in another class, and Ahmed got in trouble. We know he was arrested for disrupting school. We know he was not very cooperative. But beyond that, we do not know much more than the public relations spin his family and the Council on American Islamic Relations have put out.

When Did Calling Obama a Muslim Become a Slur?
During Q&A at a Donald Trump town hall event in New Hampshire, a man called Obama a "Muslim." When Trump failed to "correct" him, David Goodfriend, a Democratic strategist and ex-President Bill Clinton staffer, appeared on Newsmax TV calling Trump "a racist bastard." Memo to the strategist: Islam is a religion, not a race. But Democratic standard operating procedure is as follows: Whenever possible, convert any issue someway, somehow, into an accusation that Republicans are "racist." The tepid economic recovery continues, most Americans believe our foreign policy is on the wrong track and only 21 percent of Americans support Obama's Iran deal. But hey, Republicans are racist.

Ben Carson's Warning
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits." (Matthew 7:15-16) Major newspaper editorials and some columnists have their knickers in a twist over remarks by Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson. Appearing last Sunday on "Meet the Press," Carson was asked by host Chuck Todd whether he believes Islam is consistent with the Constitution. "No, I don't," he said. "I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation." Asked whether he could vote for a Muslim for Congress, Carson said Congress is a different story, but that it "depends on who that Muslim is and what their policies are."

Still Defending 'Christian' Obama
The Obama years may be winding down, but our President Obama-loving media never stops being hypersensitive about the man. CNN's latest poll asked respondents "Do you happen to know what religion Barack Obama is?" and "Where was Barack Obama born, as far as you know?" A major American media outlet asking these basic biographical questions after Obama's been president for six and a half years seems to be asking "How inadequate are we?" But what they're actually fishing for is a "crazy conservative fringe" argument now that Donald Trump is on top of the GOP presidential race.

Dr. Carson Is Right About Islam
Dr. Ben Carson is now under fire for suggesting the values of Islam are not consistent with those of the United States. NBC's Chuck Todd asked Dr. Carson if the faith of a candidate for president of the United States matters. Carson responded that it depends on what that faith is. "If it's inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter," said Dr. Carson. Todd then asked Dr. Carson if he thinks that Islam is consistent with American values and Carson responded, "No, I do not." He then expanded to say, "I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation."

Press Plays 'Gotcha' With Trump and Carson
The mainstream media is waging a journalistic jihad on Republicans. While the rest of the country is concerned about the economy and border security and the war on terror, reporters have been lobbing gotcha bombs at Republican candidates Donald Trump and Ben Carson. Dr. Carson is under fire because he doesn't believe a Muslim should be president. "I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation," Carson told NBC's "Meet the Press." He told The Hill that the next president should be "sworn in on a stack of Bibles, not a Koran."

Obama's Faith Isn't the Issue, But...
Once again the media are hyping an issue that has nothing to do with the problems confronting this nation. Shame on them for trying to manufacture a controversy — again — about President Obama's faith. During a town hall event for Donald Trump in Rochester, New Hampshire, Thursday night, a questioner said that Obama is a Muslim and that "he's not even an American." Democrats, the media and some Republicans pounced on Trump for not condemning the questioner. For all the media's obsession over it since, you'd think Trump himself called Obama the 12th imam. They are badgering every other candidate to repudiate Trump and affirm that Obama is a wonderful Christian.

Turning a Blind Eye, Muslim Mania, Poll Position
Just when you think you've heard everything, here comes an unbelievable story in the New York Times. It is a part of the culture of Afghanistan, and apparently in other parts of the Islamic world, for men to rape young boys. Decent, moral U.S. soldiers who have witnessed such atrocities reacted the way you would expect them to — they tried to stop the rapes. Unbelievably, orders were issued saying this was part of the Afghan culture and to interfere would cause ill-will toward the United States. Our soldiers were ordered to turn a blind eye to sexual child abuse. Captain Dan Quinn and Sgt. First Class Charles Martland, both Green Berets, nonetheless intervened to prevent such a rape. Quinn was relieved of his command and retired early. St. Martland is now being drummed out of the U.S. military.

'There Is No God but Allah'? School Accused of Islamic Indoctrination
Maury County, Tennessee, is in the heart of the Bible Belt. So it's understandable why the local church ladies got all shook up when they discovered that school children had been forced to declare, "There is no God but Allah." Seventh graders at Spring Hill Middle School spent three weeks covering Islam in a Social Studies class — enraging some parents who say the lessons crossed the line into indoctrination and proselytization. "I am not pleased that my 12-year-old was taught the Islamic conversion prayer," parent Brandee Porterfield told me.
