Much of the media and Democratic Party obsess about narratives. It is not enough for reporters to report facts, data, and events. They must all be shaped into story-telling elements to tell a larger story or narrative. This approach has become common among both the press and politicians. The Obama administration, in particular, has become obsessed with narratives at the expense of our national security.

There is little doubt that the world has become a more dangerous place since Barack Obama became president. The Nobel Committee should demand its Peace Prize back. As America retreats, our enemies fill the void. There is news [from Tuesday] that a Russian jet was shot down by Turkish fighters. Turkey is a member of NATO, and it claims that the Russian jet repeatedly violated Turkish airspace. [Yesterday's] action reportedly marks the first time NATO has shot down a Russian aircraft since the 1950s.

If President Obama thinks a religious test is shameful for refugees, then he has a lot to be ashamed of. His own administration has been discriminating at an amazingly fast clip over the past two months — and against the population posing the smallest threat to American safety: Christians. After its jaw-dropping findings earlier this week, CNSNews also crunched the numbers from the last month and a half and found the same disgraceful pattern of prejudice. Of the Syrians granted asylum in the U.S. since October, *only five* were Christians. The other 346 were Sunni Muslims (which, for those of you keeping score at home, is 98.6%). If that isn't a "religious test," I don't know what is. And the tragedy is this: not only do Christian refugees pose the least risk to American society, but they're also the ones in the direst need of help.

FPCON Bravo — the third-highest threat level on a five-tier scale used by the Department of Defense — signals a climate in which "increased and more predictable threat[s] of terrorist activity" and "probable violence" exist, requiring higher security measures ranging from vehicle inspections, stricter ID checks and increased guard presence.
