If You Thought 9/11 Was Bad, Consider an Islamic Bomb Detonation in the U.S.

Trump is ending the Cold War with Iran’s Islamofascist terrorist regime … and the Democrats are fighting him every step of the way.

“It is a principle incorporated into the settled policy of America, that as peace is better than war, war is better than tribute.” —James Madison (1816)

Years ago, I wrote a column on “Earth Day,” Wisconsin Demo Sen. Gaylord Nelson’s 1970s socialist charade to empower government regulations constraining the economy. That evolved into a day to protest so-called “climate change,” another socialist charade to empower government regulations that constrain the economy.

I noted in that column a more dire threat to global warming: “Make no mistake, Iran’s nuclear ambitions pose a much greater threat to our climate than CO2.”

For the record, our “Cold War” with Iran started in 1979, after then-peanut President Jimmy Carter enabled the Iran hostage crisis. That was during my junior year in college, and it was my inspiration to volunteer for military service — much as many young people were inspired to raise their hands after the 9/11 Islamist attack on our nation.

Fast-forward three decades to the election of Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

What did they do about Iran’s nuclear weapons development program in the eight years prior to the first election of Donald Trump in 2016?

Iran’s nuclear ambitions greatly accelerated over the Obama/Biden years, most notably a decade ago after Obama’s so-called “nuke deal” with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. That fiasco paved the way for the development of the “Islamic Bomb.” Recall that just before Trump took office, Obama’s final appeasement of the Iranian regime was to deliver $400 million in palletized cash to Khamenei, and another $1.3 billion shortly thereafter.

This, despite toothless tough talk by Joe Biden in a 2015 address on the dangers of a nuclear Iran.

According to Biden:

We all know the risk that a nuclear-armed Iran would pose — a regional arms race; a major blow to the prohibition against nuclear proliferation; the risk that a future crisis could escalate into a nuclear war; and a shield behind which Iran would surely hide and its proxies further destabilize the region and threaten Israel. … President Obama decided for the first time … that all instruments of American power to prevent — not contain, not contain — to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran would be used to prevent that from happening. … And if Iran resumes its pursuit of nuclear weapons, no option available today will be off the table. As a matter of fact, the options will be greatly increased because we will know so much more. … As dangerous and difficult as Iran is today, just imagine what and how emboldened, a nuclear-armed Iran would be and what escalation it would sponsor in support of terrorism and militancy. … When it comes to Iran, the president said he would draw on all instruments of our national power to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.

Further, the 2016 Democrat platform declared that a Democrat president “will not hesitate to take military action” if Iran continues to develop nuclear weapons.

In 2017, Trump took on Iran and largely held the line against that rogue regime in defense of Israel, while being distracted by the Demos’ “Russian collusion” lie.

But Iran’s status as a state sponsor of terror surged back in 2021, when the new feckless appeasers Biden and Kamala Harris took office.

The Biden/Harris regime greatly emboldened Islamic terror with its surrender and retreat from Afghanistan in August 2021.

Here is a representative sampling of what the Demos said about Iran during the Biden/Harris years.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken in 2021: “Iran’s nuclear program is galloping forward. It is enriching at higher levels, 20%, even 60% in small cases, it’s using more advanced centrifuges. We’re now down, based on published reports, to a few months. If this continues, if they continue to enrich at the levels and in the ways that they’re doing, it will get down eventually to a few weeks. So that is a concrete problem. We have an interest in putting that nuclear problem back in the box because an Iran with a nuclear weapon, or with the ability to produce fissile material on very short notice to get one, is an Iran that’s going to be an even worse actor.”

“An even worse actor”? That was a gross understatement.

Biden-Harris regime press secretary Jen Psaki in 2022: “Iran has rapidly accelerated its nuclear program and reduced cooperation with international inspectors. Their breakout period is down from about a year, which is what we knew it was during the deal, to just a few weeks or less.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray in 2023: “Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, has directly or by hiring criminals, mounted assassination attempts against dissidents and high-ranking current and former U.S. officials, including right here on American soil.”

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in 2024: “The president will not tolerate attacks on American troops, and neither will I. Our teammates were killed by radical militias backed by Iran and operating inside Syria and Iraq.”

Moreover, consider the words of then-presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Asked, “Which foreign country do you consider to be our greatest adversary?” she replied, “I think there’s an obvious one in mind, which is Iran. Iran has American blood on their hands. OK? This attack on Israel, 200 ballistic missiles. What we need to do to ensure that Iran never achieves the ability to be a nuclear power. That is one of my highest priorities.”

This was Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), now one of the Demos’ most outspoken opponents of disarming Iran’s nuclear threat, just last year: “Yes, it is true, Iran is closer to [a] nuclear weapon than ever before. If they chose to get a nuclear weapon, [they] could probably get one within weeks.”

And what did the great appeaser Biden say about Iran?

He repeatedly declared he would take action if Iran resumed its nuclear weapons development program after Trump left office. Of course, he did nothing.

This was Biden to the UN General Assembly: “We will not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.” And during a visit with Israel’s prime minister: “I’d be willing to use force as a last resort.” And on whether he would support an Israeli strike against Iran: “The answer is no.” This was Biden on Iran’s negotiating style: “Iran says one thing at the negotiating table and does another on the ground … and that is unacceptable.” And finally, here is Biden on a nuclear Iran: “The last g*\dd**n thing we need in that part of the world is a buildup of nuclear capability.”

(Recall that Biden empowered the 2023 Hamas [read: “Iran”] attack on Israel, leaving Israel to defend itself alone.)

Enter President Trump in 2025 for a second term — he made clear before his election that Iran’s tenure as a rogue Islamist State was coming to an end.

He made good on that promise, initially with “Operation Midnight Hammer” last June following Israel’s “Operation Rising Lion” to protect the world from the Islamic Bomb.

Then in March, Trump launched the second phase of his effort to obliterate Iran’s nuclear weapons program, “Operation Epic Fury” — or, as I labeled it, “Operation Epic Decapitation” — during which our military systematically took out Iran’s Islamofascist leadership, in addition to leveling its nuclear and military production facilities.

Trump’s objective was and remains clear: End the Cold War with Iran’s Islamofascist terrorist regime, and finish off the nuclear threat it poses not just to the Middle East and Western Europe but to the continental U.S.

What Trump knew, and frankly what Biden and Obama knew before him and Demos know today, is that the Islamic Bomb threat extends far beyond the Middle East.

Prior to Epic Fury, Iran had ballistic missile capabilities that could reach European nations. But missiles are not the only delivery systems available for the regime’s Islamic Bombs, and its most desired target is the U.S.

For decades in national security forums, we have analyzed the delivery to and detonation of an Islamic Bomb in a major American urban harbor. Putting a nuclear weapon on a container ship bound for a major American port, or one of several other delivery options by sea and air transport, has been a clear and present danger over the 40 years I have been engaged in national security analysis, beginning with Ronald Reagan’s administration.

Key point: If you thought the 9/11 Islamist attack on our nation was bad, contrast that with the threat of a nuclear weapon detonation in or near a major East Coast urban center.

That is precisely what the Trump administration is, at long last, trying to prevent.

And for purely political reasons ahead of this year’s midterm elections, Democrats are fighting him every step of the way.

Despite the fact that they know better, what are Demo leaders, as amplified by their Leftmedia platforms, saying about Trump’s efforts to thwart the Iran nuclear threat?

According to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY): “Trump’s Iran war has strengthened the Iranian regime and made the United States’ position worse. … All of this happens when one man, especially a man acting as unhinged as Donald Trump, has unchecked power to wage war. … Trump must end the war now. The only viable solution is a lasting diplomatic one. … Trump is a military moron.”

Additionally, Schumer claimed, “The nations of the world are furious at Trump.” But Schumer knows they are relieved that Trump is taking on Iran, even though the leaders of the UK, France, and other European nations have allowed Islamic invasions across their borders and therefore can say nothing because they are at great risk of domestic terror attacks.

Responding to Schumer, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly put it succinctly: “Like many Democrats, Chuck Schumer has spent decades talking about the threat posed by Iran, but doing nothing about it. President Trump took courageous action to ensure Iran can never use a nuclear weapon against our homeland, and as he said, we are far along with a definitive agreement to deliver lasting peace.”

And what has House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries had to say? Apparently, he got the mantra memo on “reckless war of choice.”

According to Jeffries: “Trump is a low IQ individual. … We need a permanent end to Donald Trump’s reckless war of choice. … We should not be spending billions of dollars to drop bombs in Iran while Republicans and Donald Trump are unwilling to spend a dime to actually make life more affordable for the American people. … He’s plunged America into this war without any plan, any objective and any exit strategy in terms of how actually this conflict improves the national security of the American people. … As a result of Donald Trump’s reckless war of choice, life has become more dangerous for the American people and life has become more expensive. … He has failed to articulate a compelling reason for why the United States preemptively struck Iran and has now plunged us into a war of choice. … It’s an unlawful war of choice that Donald Trump has plunged us into. … Congress must immediately end this reckless war of choice in Iran before Donald Trump plunges us into World War III.”

Ad infinitum…

Oh, and recall when Jeffries was trying to play both sides two months ago, declaring: “Now, make no mistake, Iran is a bad actor. They must be confronted for their nuclear ambitions, painful human rights abuses and repression of its own people, including the slaughter of thousands of civilians during the recent protests. It is the leading state sponsor of terrorism. It is a brutal regime that presents a serious threat to our allies in the Middle East, including Israel, Jordan and the Gulf states.”

And their political game has gotten traction.

Having plastered the public airwaves with the Schumer and Jeffries rhetoric, the Leftmedia talkingheads and scribes would have you believe that the Trump administration should not base its response to what was, two months ago, Iran’s imminent nuclear Islamic terror threat, but instead on MSM media polling.

In other words, the media tells their audience what to think, then polls people on what they told them, then reports that polling as if it is anything other than echo chamber propaganda.

For example, Politico reports, “Americans remain deeply skeptical of war in Iran, poll shows.” And The Hill claims, “61 percent say Iran war a mistake: Survey.”

Those polls reflect the fact that 88% of the MSM war coverage is negative.

All said, Trump has asserted and repeated one claim that has set him up for criticism.

Often, Trump’s statements are part of the three-dimensional chess he and his intelligence, military, and administration advisers play, and they are generally five moves ahead of their opponents. That would include knowing that the Strait of Hormuz would become a point of entanglement.

But sometimes Trump impulsively undermines that brilliant advantage.

His rhetorical saber-rattling is straight out of The Art of the Deal, but early on, he oversold how soon we would “make a deal” with Iran to end the war. In fact, Americans need to understand that we can’t trust an Islamist terrorist regime, and Trump should make clear that will continue, including degrees of kinetic enforcement, until democracy prevails over Iran’s fascist theocracy, if it ever does.

However, that in no way diminishes the importance of Trump’s endgame as noted above: Neutralize the nuclear threat Iran poses not just to the Middle East and Western Europe but to the continental U.S.
