Observations on the week’s analysis and commentary.
Editor’s Note: Thank you for sending comments on our news, policy, and opinion — we review every one of them. Here are a few reader perspectives, which don’t necessarily reflect those of The Patriot Post.
Re: Does Your Vote Still Matter?
“A Confederation of States is a very interesting, fully constitutional proposal. Demos will continue to adulterate elections and our Constitution until such measures are taken.” —California
“Idealism aside, there is no way to live with the progressive left, only, if one chooses, to live under its rule. As a Texan with no other viable alternative, I embrace the TEXIT movement — we were once our own nation. I am among all those veterans who swore to ‘support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America,’ which has been twisted and perverted beyond recognition in its meaning. Keep up the good work. The Patriot Post is one of the few outlets that I support with my hard-earned money.” —Texas
“I don’t favor a Trump vs. Biden matchup in 2024. But I dare not abandon preparations. Democrats will demolish any ethical, moral, and legal obstacle to win in 2024 (worse than in 2020). A Biden win would toll death bells of the rights of man.” —Missouri
“If we insist on running Donald Trump (Democrats and swing voters hate him), we are going to lose. And then what?” —Georgia
“‘What then?’ We’ve tried the Soap Box and the Ballot Box. All we have left is the Bullet Box. We would not chose this solution, but neither did our ancestors in 1775.” —Nevada
“Some memories burn permanent scars. But live images of ordinary people abandoning hope and jumping to their deaths and live images of buildings collapsing and crushing the trapped and heroic rescuers left a gaping wound that must be treated but can never heal. For victims, survivors, and humanity alike, we must never forget to ensure never again!” —Missouri
Re: NM Governor Cancels the Second Amendment
“No rights are absolute?! How did this person get elected to anything? Leftists are determined — they MUST disarm Americans if their conquest is to succeed!” —Alabama
“Why didn’t we all think of this earlier: gun violence ends with the stroke of a pen. This feeling of omnipotence is trickling down from the White House to governors’ mansions. I’m sure that the thugs who inspired the ban have gotten rid of all their evil firearms to comply with her order.” —Illinois
“She says she wants to ‘make New Mexicans safer,’ yet NM is the abortion capital of the Southwest. Those lives in the womb are not safe from her. She defines hypocrisy. NM has a carte blanche Public Health Act, and she wields it like a sword. She shut down NM with it during the COVID pseudo-crisis and put 40% of the self-employed out of business and fined others. We were under a public health order for over two years. She’s a poster child for the purpose of the Second Amendment. Pay attention to this one, America. And NM — get that Public Health Act amended!” —New Mexico
Re: Cali-Style Blackouts Deep in the Heart of Texas?
“In the Frisco area this year, there were no outages. We expected an outage every day but coasted through. I give a lot of credit to Governor Abbott! I hate that we are forced to look at those ugly windmills when we have so much natural energy under our feet.” —Texas
“Things Greenies don’t think about: when the wind doesn’t blow; when the sun doesn’t shine; Mother Nature; the cost of maintenance; wildfires; responsible disposal of spent support infrastructure — motors, storage batteries, shattered solar panels. I’m sure the environmental damage due to the leftovers has not been factored in. I’m all for using the resources available, but each one has its place in the 360° view. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater equals cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face. Be careful what you wish for.” —Arizona
“You cannot be logical with an illogical person. Parents will have to remove their children from public schools and homeschool. The state wants total control at the expense of parental rights. Take away religion. Take away constitutional rights. Take away education and replace it with dogma. Take away patriotism and merit. Make our children robots for the government. NO independent thinking or opposition. Next we will see artificial intelligence become the way of life for our next generations. The sad part is all these current officials will have collected their retirement monies and left office. If you don’t fight now, all is lost.” —Washington
Re: Spreading Blue Contagion in Red America
“It’s long, long past time for red-state legislatures to take complete control of their so-called education … and TAXPAYER-FUNDED … institutions. It’s long past time for them to throw out the leftist trash at all levels, from graduate assistant to board chairman. It’s long past time to rid all schools of all vestiges of tenure and seniority.” —Florida
