Trump Nukes the Wackadoo Right
Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones all were on the receiving end of Donald Trump’s wrath over their opposition to his fight in Iran.
President Donald Trump just went nuclear about Iran. Metaphorically, of course.
In a lengthy Truth Social diatribe, the president laid into several right-wing influencers for their vehement opposition to Operation Epic Fury and, to a certain extent, his broader agenda. He began with a very Trumpian assertion:
I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon — Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs. They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too!
“Low IQ” is one of Trump’s favorite insults, and he applies it to anyone whose criticisms annoy him long enough. I have no idea what their actual IQ scores are, but Carlson, Kelly, Owens, and Jones are all at least very adept at what they do — convincing very large audiences to loyally believe what they say. (That happens to be quite a bit like a guy named Donald Trump.) In other words, millions of people don’t think those four influencers are stupid. Moreover, Carlson and Owens run two of the fastest-growing YouTube channels in 2026. Maybe that’s akin to people rubbernecking a car wreck, but I doubt it.
Trump was far from done.
They’ve all been thrown off Television, lost their Shows, and aren’t even invited on TV because nobody cares about them, they’re NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS, and will say anything necessary for some “free” and cheap publicity. Now they think they get some “clicks” because they have Third Rate Podcasts, but nobody’s talking about them, and their views are the opposite of MAGA — Or I wouldn’t have won the Presidential Election in a LANDSLIDE.
The president of the United States is talking about them. So am I now, and so are many news outlets this morning, thanks to Trump.
That doesn’t mean he’s entirely wrong. When Tucker Carlson was first fired from Fox News, we in our humble shop largely took his side and often wondered what we didn’t know about the firing. Three years later, it’s become abundantly clear: Carlson’s superiors got tired of reining in a nut job. The same seems to be true of Owens and Kelly.
“Perhaps [Carlson] should see a good psychiatrist!” Trump jabbed. Presidential? Nope. But I have to admit it’s kinda funny.
He specifically hit all three of the others for personal slights or falsehoods before saying, “These so-called ‘pundits’ are LOSERS.” He also noted that, entirely because of their pointed criticism of Trump, “Fake News CNN, The Failing New York Times, and all of the other Radical Left ‘News’ Organizations, are ‘hailing’ them, and giving them ‘positive’ press for the first time in their lives.” Favorable attention from the “in” crowd has proved to be intoxicating for a few folks on the Right over the years.
And the Leftmedia definitely has a Strange New Respect™ for the influencers in this debate.
Trump concluded his post: “MAGA is about WINNING and STRENGTH in not allowing Iran to have Nuclear Weapons. MAGA is about MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and these people have no idea how to do that, BUT I DO, because THE UNITED STATES IS NOW THE ‘HOTTEST’ COUNTRY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
As far as Carlson, Kelly, Owens, and Jones are concerned, Trump’s tirade is hardly damaging or even concerning. Quite the contrary — it’s probably the best thing that happened to them all year. Any attention is good attention, but especially this attention.
Carlson and Trump used to be on far friendlier terms, but Trump has had his fill of Tucker, which was pretty clear even last summer. The feeling is mutual.
This isn’t the first time that Trump has set the record straight on MAGA, either.
The influencers clearly aren’t going to take it quietly. Carlson called Trump “evil” and said his actions in Iran — which he predicts will include the use of nuclear weapons — are “the manifestation of Satan’s power.” Similarly, Owens declared, “This is a satanic administration.” Jones said Trump is behaving “like an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie.” Owens and Jones both joined Democrats in calling for Trump’s removal from office. “His team needs to grab him and 25th his a** and commit him,” Jones said. Of Trump’s vulgar Easter post, Kelly responded with the same vulgarity: “Just shut the f**k up.”
I’m just a humble analyst in East Tennessee, but my take is simple: The conservative movement has fundamentally changed over the last decade because of Trump. Much of it is directly what he has said and done; the rest is how movement leaders responded. Ronald Reagan’s influence over policy and ideology has waned. The Tea Party is long gone. We’re left debating whose social media rants are (more) correct.
In any case, The Patriot Post turns 30 this year, and we have always promoted First Principles. I don’t do what I’ve been doing here for 22 years because I’m following influencers or politicians, and I hope you can say the same thing. I stick to principles and advocate for the policy or approach I believe is right, based on those foundational beliefs. As much as ever, our nation needs constitutional principles to truly Make America Great Again.
