Leftmedia Debunks Its Own Anti-Gun Headline
Comparing the deaths caused by guns and cars.
“Guns are now killing as many people as cars in the U.S.” screams a Washington Post Wonkblog headline. The only problem? The graph at the beginning of the story debunks their own headline. The line of “gun violence” has been relatively consistent for the last 60 years, while the rate of automobile deaths has plummeted. So, in a manner of speaking, we suppose guns do now kill as many people as cars, but that’s only because so many fewer are killed by cars. But no matter — in the age of social media, where most people just look at headlines without actually reading the content, this headline serves its intended purpose.
