Friday Executive News Summary

Justice Breyer finally finds the Constitution, Biden pays the Chinese COVID arsonist, Cori Bush blames “gun violence” after attack, and more.

Top of the Fold

  • Justice Breyer finally finds the Constitution: The nearly unbelievable happened yesterday as Justice Stephen Breyer announced his coming retirement at the end of the Court’s current term. Standing at the podium, Breyer reached into his jacket pocket and produced an item he had evidently lost for the duration of his judicial career — a pocket Constitution. He praised the “American experiment” as “a kind of miracle” because “the people that have come to accept this Constitution … come to accept the importance of the rule of law.” It’s too bad that Breyer failed to accept it. He was more often guided in his decisions by the concerns of leftist political activism than by fidelity to the Constitution.

  • Biden pays the Chinese COVID arsonist: The Biden administration decided to award a $1.3 billion contract for the manufacture of COVID testing kits to a Chinese company. That’s right — U.S. taxpayers will be paying China, the source of the coronavirus, for the millions of COVID test kits Joe Biden promised Americans months ago. As Republican Representative Michael Waltz (FL) pointedly observed, Biden is “paying the arsonist for helping [to] put out the fire.” He further noted, “When dealing with any Chinese company, all funds inevitably fill the coffers of the Chinese Communist Party and that hurts our national security.” Then again, a whole lot of Chinese money managed to find its way into Biden bank accounts

  • “Defund the Police” proponent Cori Bush blames “gun violence” after attack: Democrat Representative and “Squad” member Cori Bush claimed that her car was shot at over the weekend while she was campaigning in St. Louis. Bush took the opportunity to blame guns, stating that “any act of gun violence shakes your soul,” adding, “our movement is working to invest in our communities, eradicate the root causes of gun violence, and keep everyone safe.” One wonders how Bush plans to accomplish this as she is a leading proponent of defunding the police. Speaking of Bush’s anti-police activism, it is contributing to the rising number of deadly attacks against law enforcement officers. Over just the last 48 hours across the nation, six LEOs have been shot. It’s not guns doing this, it’s criminals who are being emboldened and encouraged by a leftist narrative that vilifies law enforcement as racist.

  • “Transgender” school boy rapist removed from sex offender registry: The “transgender” boy who was found guilty of sexually assaulting two girls in two different Loudoun County, Virginia, schools has had his name pulled from the sex offender registry. Loudoun County Judge Pamela Brooks ruled that the now 15-year-old boy’s inclusion on a sex offender registry for life was “an error” that the court needed to correct. His attorney argued that his client was the victim of “a national media outcry.” Needless to say, the parents of the boy’s victims were none too pleased, warning that the court was paving the way for more victims. Virginia’s new Republican district attorney has vowed to look into the case. A similar yet even greater example of court malfeasance comes from California, where a 26-year-old child molester, James Tubbs, was given just a two-year sentence after he pleaded guilty to molesting a 10-year-old girl eight years ago when he was two weeks shy of turning 18. To make matters worse, Tubbs’s recent claim of identifying as a woman got him placed in a juvenile facility where he will be housed with females. So, a man guilty of molesting girls will be confined in a facility with juvenile females. Utterly outrageous.
