The Left’s Deadly Dismissal of Natural Immunity
Not only is natural immunity against COVID real, studies are finding that it’s better than immunity provided by the vaccines.
One term that has become nearly verboten with mainstream and social media over the course of the COVID pandemic is “natural immunity.” In fact, early last year, social media giant Facebook began banning many claims regarding natural immunity, justifying the blatant censorship by claiming to be preventing dangerous “misinformation.” This same attitude was widely prevalent across much of the MSM, as even raising questions regarding the efficacy of natural immunity was treated as entertaining unscientific conspiracy theories.
From Joe Biden’s White House on down, the message to all Americans is that the best and only way to respond to the virus is to get vaccinated. To add insult, the Biden administration regularly claimed that the reason the COVID variants were arising was due to unvaccinated Neanderthals.
“This is a continuing pandemic of the unvaccinated,” Biden infamously asserted in September (and many times since). “Too many have not gotten vaccinated, and it’s creating a lot of unease in our economy and around our kitchen tables.” Days later, Biden would announce his unconstitutional COVID vaccine mandate targeting American workers. Less than a month prior, the Food and Drug Administration had conveniently green-lighted Pfizer’s vaccine — in record time.
Meanwhile, as the Delta variant spread across the country, the only message from the Biden administration was to get vaccinated, get boosted, and wear a mask. That became the only permitted COVID messaging allowed, and it was used repeatedly to justify Biden’s various vaccine mandates. When people were losing their jobs for refusing to adhere to Biden’s diktat, the MSM mantra was, Well, they could keep their jobs if they just do the right thing and get vaccinated.
Over a month after Biden announced his mandate, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration came out with the new rule, and it was the typical authoritarian-style, top-down, one-size-fits-all “solution” devised by bureaucrats that always creates more problems than it solves. For example, OSHA glaringly refused to recognize the biological reality of natural immunity.
The unvaccinated, even if they had already had COVID and fully recovered, were considered to have no immunity. All those millions of Americans who may have contracted the virus and recovered, especially healthcare workers who had been on the frontlines dealing with COVID months before a vaccine was developed, were now treated as part of the problem if they refused the vaccine. New York State served as an amazing example of this science-defying dogma, as healthcare workers who refused the COVID vaccine were fired when just months prior these same workers had been hailed as heroes. It clearly had nothing to do with “following the science,” but was instead all about securing newly acquired power.
Only now, after Biden’s vaccine mandate has been overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, does the CDC finally admit and publish a study (which is merely one of many) that has concluded what everyone already knew was the case — natural immunity for COVID is real. But not only is it real, it is in fact better than immunity gained from the vaccines.
Neither, it is important to note, confer 100% protection from future infection.
Johns Hopkins School of Medicine professor Dr. Marty Makary conducted a study on COVID immunity and found “that among 295 unvaccinated people who previously had Covid, antibodies were present in 99% of them up to nearly two years after infection.” He continued: “We also found that natural immunity developed from prior variants reduced the risk of infection with the Omicron variant. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the two-dose Moderna vaccine against infection (not severe disease) declines to 61% against Delta and 16% against Omicron at six months, according to a recent Kaiser Southern California study. In general, Pfizer's Covid vaccines have been less effective than Moderna’s.”
On top of this, researchers in Israel, a nation with one of the highest COVID vaccination rates in the world, “found that natural immunity was 27 times as effective as vaccinated immunity in preventing symptomatic illness.”
The science seems clear: Natural immunity is real and at least as good as the vaccines at preventing serious infection from COVID variants. This means that the demand for universal vaccination in order to “stop the spread” is a false “choice.” Given this reality, why the continued universal vaccination demand as the only legitimate solution to fighting COVID?
The answer lies in politics and power. If the majority of Americans embrace the scientific reality that natural immunity is real and superior to the novel vaccines, they may choose not to get the vaccine, especially if they’ve already had the virus. Making the COVID vaccine the “only” solution keeps people dependent on the government as the solution to the pandemic. People not relying on government means politicians and bureaucrats have less power. Hence the narrative that only the vaccines will save us from COVID.
