Tucker Carlson: Too True for Fox

I agree with your analysis, to a point. The settlement of the lawsuit put fear into the hearts of the Murdoch family. Since Tucker would not back off on his mostly correct 2020 election and January 6 statements, he had to go. And others will follow, by their own decision or the network’s. I had noticed Tucker leaving out some basic facts in his reporting over the past year or so. Nothing major, but things that seemed common knowledge to me. Hopefully these transgressions were not on purpose. But, as I’ve said about the media for years, if a reporter (or producer, etc.) is more than half a mile from the nearest Starbucks, they are in unknown territory. Perhaps Tucker went beyond that ½ mile. —Colorado

The coin-of-the-realm in the news business is “truth and trust.” That has been lost over the past several decades. There is little doubt that the Murdoch heirs have a different worldview and possess a contempt for the “rubes” that comprise the Fox News audience. A “price” will be exacted. In the meantime, we truth-seekers will just have to do more online scrounging. —Minnesota

I have enjoyed Carlson for several years. He was a hard-hitting truth-teller who was powerful enough to have no fear when attacked. That said, recently Tucker has been perhaps too quick to pound the Left into the sand before all the facts are in. There have also been many instances when Tucker used unnecessary hyperbolic language to puff up a comment or story. To me, this was unprofessional for a news reporter/journalist. Perhaps I should have just taken everything he said with a grain of salt. Finally, I believe he may bear some responsibility for the $788 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems. —Alabama

Not knowing what he faced on the following Monday morning, Carlson inspired with his presentation. We are guaranteed “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” How, and when, did DEI become the law of the land? Maybe, because I’m 75, I don’t care what they do to me; I’m an American first and always will be. I speak up when I hear nonsense (they call it nuance) espoused, and I don’t care who hears me. Don’t stay quiet if you truly believe in the core principles and values this nation was built on. If we add our voices together, I’d bet we outnumber them. —Missouri

Biden Thinks He Can ‘Finish the Job’?

Joe Biden in a little over two years has done much to turn an unquestionably exceptional nation into one on the brink of becoming a third-world country. By sacrificing energy independence and depleting our Strategic Petroleum Reserves while emphasizing social justice over war-fighting readiness, he has seriously weakened our military establishment. His ill-timed and ill-planned disastrous U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan was a strategic blunder that emboldened our adversaries on multiple fronts. The Democrat agenda is the greatest threat our nation has ever faced. The future of the USA direly rests on not allowing Joe to “finish the job.” —Florida

Why Demos Must Defend Deviancy

Excellent analysis, excellent article. The Left’s agenda is to destroy faith and family and to replace our Republic with despotism — and it is willing to spend as much of our money as required to accomplish that end. —Washington

FBI Censors Nashville Manifesto

This “total destruction” narrative is a smokescreen, and a poor one at that. A 28-year-old girl with gender dysphoria whose world was in chaos from trying to come to terms with her sexuality, decisions, and hate was also a criminal mastermind who came up with a plan that would be “total destruction” and is too dangerous to share? That’s too much to swallow. It’s insulting they would tell us something that dumb. —Texas

Academic Fakery Equals Made-Up Racism

The saddest part of DEI education is that it isn’t fixing anything. Education should be about solving a problem, but DEI doesn’t solve any problems; it in fact creates problems. Now we must be more careful of how we speak for fear of violating some undefined feeling that someone might have. I was raised to believe if you don’t like your feelings, change them, because I can’t make you feel different. —Wisconsin

Trans-Slenderism: The Soft Anarchy of Self-Gratification

It literally costs twice as much to haul a 350 lb. person in the air compared to a 175 lb. person. A larger seat weighs more and may require a heavier aircraft structure, which again increases cost. It takes up space that could be given to two normal-sized passengers. It is not “bigoted” for airlines to charge morbidly obese persons for two seats. —Minnesota

Profiles of Valor: MSgt Roy P. Benavidez

I was privileged to serve with MSgt Benavidez, “Tango Mike Mike,” for one tour in Vietnam. His service and love of our great country is his enduring legacy! —Arizona

Thank you for your tribute. I cannot express the sadness I felt at his passing. “Till we meet again, primo!” —Texas

Patriots’ Day — Hold the Line!

Rereading Alexander’s recount of the courage of American Patriots standing up to a formidable foe brought tears to my eyes. It is unfortunate that many of our children are not taught about our valiant and proud history. They cannot appreciate where we are because they don’t know from where we have come. It should be mandatory that public schools teach American history at every grade level. —Pennsylvania
