The Left’s Mass-Murdering Double Standard

There’s nothing to see here unless the assault furthers the Left’s anti-gun, anti-white-male agenda.

We’ve got to hand it to the FBI. What began as an elite law enforcement and investigatory institution has evolved into other areas of expertise, including election-rigging and leftist propagandizing.

The former, which involves the bureau’s multifaceted pro-Biden interference in the 2020 presidential election, has been well-documented on these pages. But the latter, which now involves the shaping of public opinion regarding mass shooting incidents, demands some additional scrutiny.

This past weekend, we saw another psychopath commit another mass murder — this one at an upscale shopping mall in Allen, Texas. There, as we reported Monday, a 33-year-old man — a brown supremacist, as it turns out — opened fire on shoppers and young children, killing eight and wounding several others. Had a cop not already been at the mall on an unrelated matter, the massacre would’ve been far worse. Indeed, rare is the soft target — the mall, the school, the hospital — that has a hero like Eli Dicken in the right place at the right time.

News of the Allen attack spread quickly, although the name of the assailant was withheld for what seemed to be an unusually long time. We wondered, naturally: Could this delay have had anything to do with the fact that his name was Hispanic and not more Anglo-sounding?

Once we learned the shooter’s name, though, the additional information about him came in quick succession: We learned that he had no prior criminal record; that he joined the Army in June 2008 but was separated just three months later due to mental health concerns; that he worked as a security guard.

We learned, too, courtesy of The New York Times, that he had a social media profile “rife with hate-filled rants against women and Black people,” and that the profile “also includes language praising Hitler, with references to neo-Nazi websites like The Daily Stormer.”

We learned from CNN that his social media posts “included photos of a man’s shirtless torso with a large swastika tattoo over the heart, firearms, and a ballistic vest with a patch with the abbreviation for Right-Wing Death Squad.”

And, as NBC News reports, he “made disturbing comments about what makes a mass shooting ‘important’ and praised a person who opened fire at a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, this year, killing six people, including three children.”

Notice, though, how NBC referred to that Nashville killer as “a person.” Weird, huh? It’s almost as if it’s afraid to report that the “person” who murdered those three adults and those three children at The Covenant School was a 28-year-old “transgender” woman.

And speaking of whom, why is it that some six weeks after her murderous attack on a Christian school, we still know next to nothing about her? That’s a rhetorical question, of course. As we noted recently:

There’s often much to be learned about the twisted ideologies of these mass murderers through their own writings. We learned, for example, about the Charleston church shooter’s avowed white supremacy. And about the anti-Semitism of the synagogue shooter in Pittsburgh. And we saw the pre-massacre video made by the high school shooter in Parkland, Florida. And the hate-fueled anti-immigrant screed from the Walmart shooter in El Paso. And the racist “Replacement Theory” rant of the Buffalo supermarket shooter.

And now, just days after the latest murderous attack, we know so much about the Texas assailant that we can make a well-informed guess as to what drove him.

But we still know nothing about the Nashville killer and what drove her, despite the fact that, as it’s been widely reported, she left plenty of material behind, such as more than a dozen journals and even a suicide note.

Two groups, the Tennessee Firearms Association and the National Police Association, are suing Nashville Police for the release of these materials, and the Tennessee Star has filed an administrative appeal with the FBI. As USA Today reports, “All three received almost identical denials of their requests for the materials, citing a Tennessee rule shielding records from public release if they are part of an ongoing criminal prosecution.”

Uh-huh. This is utterly unconvincing, given that there’s no “ongoing criminal prosecution” taking place. The Nashville killer is dead, after all. Who might they be prosecuting six weeks after the rampage?

Why might the FBI be delaying the release of these materials? What damaging information might they be hiding from the American people? Perhaps the murderer’s own words somehow implicate the cult of transgenderism.

The answer, as our Mark Alexander has written, is this: “Because the assailant is among the Left’s now-sacred gender-confused constituency, Biden’s handlers will reject any effort by the Department of Justice to classify this assault as a ‘hate crime’ [against Christians]. To allow that classification would result in immediate blowback from the leftist gender cult” — and the sizable Democrat constituency which supports them.

But that’s today’s FBI. It’s been reduced to propagandizing, and to running interference for the Democrats and their radical leftist causes.
